The Week in Stupid: Cable Pundits on the Gifford Shooting (video)
youtube ^ | 1/18/11 | Reason TV

Immediately following last week's tragic events in Tucson, television pundits fell over each another to assign blame. According to the professional talking heads--and despite any actual evidence--the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords could be pinned on the Tea Party, Ayn Rand, gold enthusiasts, Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, heavy metal, marijuana, and/or the "heated rhetoric" of cable news. Reason.tv trawls the archives and compiles the dumbest responses from America's dumbest pundits.

When did Sarah Palin become a Ayn Rand/Ron Paul Objectivist/Libertarian?

Some say she leans that way:
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/09/the_libertarian_case_for_palin.html

Others (Libertarians) don’t:
http://libertymaven.com/2008/10/07/sarah-palin-is-not-a-libertarian-not-even-close/2414/

I think her belief in God (and as mentioned in the second article her injecting religious beliefs into public policy) makes her out to be a conservative (Christian at that) and NOT a “if it feels good do it” Libertarian.

What say you?

Ayn Rand was an avowed atheist. If I was to say anything about Sarah Palin, she is the closest thing to a Ronald Reagan Republican we’ve had in a long time, IMHO.

Sarah is not libertarian. She is just an old fashioned conservative who sources strength from a personal religious practise. She is not a religious lip service person. She
is a religious practitioner. I can tell and so can many.

What is her practise? A daily schedule of prayer, reading and contemplation. It manifests as a kind of grace and personal strength.

It is that grace and strength which inflames the left.

Add a "pro abortion, adulterer, who abhorred altruism, one of the basic tenets of Judeo-Christian faith" and you've summed up Ayn Rand. That's the reason I felt quite uncomfortable seeing Rand's and Palin's name in the same article.

It is that grace and strength which inflames the left.

And obviously the social left wing of the Democratic Party: Libertarians.

If she sticks with the laws of God and doesn't give into PC pressure, she can't go wrong.

Lets hope she remains safe and protected. She is this country’s last chance IMHO.
