” We need to swift-boat this shifty bastard early in the primaries to get the money to go to Consevatives with a chance.”

Absolutely. Perhaps a clearing house for information, and some volunteer copy editors? If it were done well enough, it might even get published.

The feeling I get that Romney will win the nomination, gives me that same feeling in my stomach.....

I know what you mean -- I had that same feeling back when McCain got the nomination, which surprised the heck out of me.

With sadness and disgust I predict that FOX, widely (and in my opinion erroneously) regarded by Republicans and Democrats as an honest arbiter of conservative sentiment, will spin its coverage such that Palin is a joke and a mere celebrity FOX colleague, and that Romney is the only "serious" candidate. Brit Hume, Krauthhammer, and all the other Certified & Approved "voices of the right" will assume the roles of The Grown-Ups who decide what to report so we'll decide the way they want us to, and that will be that Romney is the "responsible" choice.

The vast herd of Republican sheep will sway in their direction, bleating "Well, at least he's better than Obama" (or whoever the Dem nominee is, which is yet to be seen), vote "safe," and regardless of who wins the presidency, our present malaise will worsen as the government grows ever more burdensome and interfering.

I hope I'm wrong, but I have the sinking feeling I'm not.

Great song!
Between Buffalo Springfield, Crazy Horse, CSN&Y, and NY, I probably had 15 albums back in my yute, lol.

I figured "FWIW" must have been one of your fave NY songs, LOL.
(Yeah, I know, Stills wrote it - details!)

LAST CHANCE FOR THE GOP

If the GOP picks Romney, everyone on FReeRepublic will work against the GOP.

"Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries,
(Mitt Romney, Carpetbagger UT,CA,MA,NH,Mexico) lost Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and California.
The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states;
and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals
couldn't spare the cash to advertise.
Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.
(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."

Where's the public clamor for Romney? Who's out there saying 'we need Romney'? Are the country clubs of America demanding Romney? What's his base? Media buzz? Inevitability? What?

I was at one point, very interested in Romney and thought he'd be a good choice. No more. Never.

There are new hints that former Utah Olympic leader Mitt Romney is gearing up to announce another run for president.

Isn't Deseret news a mormon owned newspaper? This is their lead in statement? Why not Romney, the master mind behind Obama care throws one if his many hats in the ring?

Heads are gonna explode around here, when (not if) Beck endorses him.
