I guess he didn’t want to have to move too far!

My brother plays for Stanford, as a freshman. I’m going to go cry now.

If he’s 25% as successful as the last Stanford coach 49’ers had, he’ll be damn good.

Good luck Jim!

He had to, the money was too big to turn down.

I feel bad for Stanford fans, and the kids he recruited. It’s a shame contracts aren’t binding.

I was really hoping he would stay at Stanford or at least go the Broncos. I can’t stand the 49ers, but I despise the Steelers more.

Liked him as a player, like him as a coach as well. The Niners have a young team, the timing is probably right. Also with the new bride, probably looking at the financial angle as well since Stanford wouldn’t be able to match what an NFL team can pay.

Kind of surprised after Luck decided to stay - wonder if that will change? Stanford will/would have been highly ranked next year

He will look very successful his first year as the 49ers were a team of underachievers.

LOL!!! You mentioned the Broncos before I did. I am actually a Cowboys fan and defacto Cardinals fan living here in AZ. Besides, how can I like a team that Pelosi has season tickets for. LOL!!!

You are kidding, right?

I do agree though that SF is a much better match for a first time gig, if they fail you can blame the organization.

What? The 49ers is team any sane coach would strongly consider, a team that pretty much has all of the pieces on offense and defense except for the QB position......if a coah can half vouch that team in that weak division then they can win
