Icon. Maverick. Liberal. Career politician.

U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold has been called many things during his time in the spotlight. But after nearly 30 years in politics, the junior senator from Wisconsin is coming home a private citizen.

When the final gavel falls on the 111th Congress, Feingold will be unemployed — the victim of an angry electorate bent on change in Washington, D.C.

Good riddance. Surely a job is waiting for Feingold at Center for American Progress.

Don’t worry, they’re trying to get Kohl out and install Foolsgold into his seat in ‘12.

Feingold served (himself) for 30 years in the senate and he’s the JUNIOR senator?

It appears Wisconsin night have at least one other career politician who needs to be shown the door.

And like other Democrat losers, his stature within the Party will rise and he’ll get a well-paid gig in HHS or some other government department to tide him over til the next attempt at elected/stolen office.

My apologies. He spent 30 years in politics. He "only" served (himself) in the U.S. senate for 18 of those years.

His final speech:

“Depression, unemployment, and high taxes.... It’s just a little ‘service’ I provide.”

Few members of congress can lay claim to as much damage in one career...

Oh, the irony. Two years after a watershed election based on Hope and Change in Washington, A socialist who supported that agenda is out of office because of "an angry electorate bent on change in Washington, D.C".

I guess that change that was voted in in 2008 was a little too much for that angry electorate...

the victim...

Poor old Russ. 18 years at the Government tit, a big fat pension, and lifetime free medical care. Yea, he's a victim alright.

"Free"? He gets a fat pension ~ but that's because Congresscritters get double credit for every year service. You take 60 years service time he maxed out his CSRS at 80% of his high three, but if he transferred to FERS in 1987/88 ~ he'd get another 22% on top of that, or 102% of high three.

Just another day in Congress.

Where he gets the big bucks is working for a lobbyist.

"Free"? He gets a fat pension ~ but that's because Congresscritters get double credit for every year service. That gives him 60 years service time. He only needed 20 years to get his 40 years service time which would yield an 80% maximum retirement based on his high three years.

If he transferred to FERS in 1987, he'd have 7 years under CSRS ~ but that's 14 years service time, and that would give him about 20% of his high three, PLUS 23 more years under FERS, which would give him 46% times his high three. Total benefit would be 66% of his high three.

By federal standards either deal is fairly high, but that's because he had a high salary category ~ Congress critters get more than mere federal employees ~ a lot more!

Where Feingold will make the big bucks is for a couple of years working for a non-profit think tank in a sponsored chair, but he can make even more as a lobbyist after that.

How much do you folks think a superannuated Leftwingtard Fascist puke can make in this town ~ a little, a lot, just enough, or what?

I have absolutely no sympathy for Russ Feingold.

He now lives in the town where I ws raised & attended HS.

Sory to say that now. I don’t think he lived there when I did.

Either way, he certainly has caused more problems for the USA citizens than those which he contributed to correcting. May he rot.
