Larry King Rips Hannity, Maddow:'What They Are – Are Preachers'
The Daily Caller ^ | 12/26/10 | Jeff Poor

Posted on 12/26/2010 1:12:26 PM PST by Nachum

Both Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow offered their best to outgoing legendary anchor Larry King on Dec. 16, his final broadcast night. But how does the outgoing CNN anchor feel about them? On CNN’s Sunday broadcast of “Reliable Sources,” host Howard Kurtz asked King about his competitors, which he was third to in the ratings at the tail-end of his career. King admitted they were good at what they did, but said he didn’t particularly care for it. “They got better ratings,” King said. “However, I don’t regret anything and I’m happy with what I did.

In all seriousness, exactly how is it that he's legendary?

Nothing captures Larry King Alive better than Rush's parody of King interviewing Ken Starr and James Carville.

That’s not just your opinion. When he did radio 20+ years ago, he was the typical radio host, which meant he was way left of center.

Back then, there was little to counter that ideology. Then came Rush (whom King has made derogatory comments about) and the rest is history.

King was never even a good interviewer, but he did persevere.

I think Larry died quite a while ago.
They just haven’t gotten around to embalming him yet.

Well, I wouldn’t call it a “crushing blow”, but King does have a point.

Hannity is entertaining, but I never tune in expecting any sort of serious debate. He’s very much a talking points guy, and he tends to talk over his guests regardless of their views.

Maddow, of course, is a complete leftist shill. The only difference between her and the likes of Olbermann and “Sgt” Ed Schultz is that Maddow is smart enough to put on a phony “journalist cap” when she spins.

I had a late night paper route for years, and listened to King to stay awake. It was the only thing on, and even then his style and substance were boring and really boring. He was the original man that when asked a question he did not want to answer, would just hang up. In short, he has the “nads” of gender bending female, and the journalistic integrity of 0prah.

Nah, the ol' Toaf Larry King gets other to do his preaching for him. Like Ross Perot.

I'll never forget Larry letting Goerge Stephanopolous get through with a telephone ambush of George HW Bush in 92.

King has long said his style involved doing as little talking as possible during interviews...

BS. And he was even worse on his radio show. He bullied his callers constantly.

Howard Stern did a hilarious impersonation of him on his (Stern’s) TV show 20 years ago.

why the HELL would hannity offer his best to larry king? Seriously? Why not just let him ride off into the sunset. Just because larry was retiring doesn’t mean everyone in the world is sad or cares.

All three of them are dead as far as concerned.

Hannity, O’Really and Beck are un-watchable and in the same league.

Thank God for Rush and Levine.

Who’s Larry King?

Oh, the geezer with the glasses and suspenders.

Why would anyone want to listen to the dumbest geezer on CNN?

“why the HELL would hannity offer his best to larry king?”

The entertainment biz’s version of being PC. It’s pervasive.

“In short, he has the “nads” of gender bending female, and the journalistic integrity of 0prah.”

The ideal “interviewer” for the era when the LSM had no competition.
