Senate Democrats Poised for Power Grab
Fox News ^ | 23 Dec 2010 | N/A

Posted on 12/23/2010 9:29:22 PM PST by Jet Jaguar

Senate Democrats are going to be working over the Christmas break to deliver a lump of coal to the American people in the form of a radical changing of the Senate's rules. This is a naked power grab by liberals in the Senate pure and simple.

The National Journal reports that Senate Democrats are laying the groundwork to chip away at the filibuster on January 5, 2011. They are going to push the idea that a simple majority of the Senate can abolish the filibuster rules, or radically change the rules, in a new Congress.

It’s the judges that they want to confirm, they don’t need the House for that. Up to and including the SCOTUS judges

Can’t the House really get “nucular” and refuse to fund THAT process?

Harry Reid had to cheat to win; his boy shuts off power and counts reset.

It’s disgusting to look at him… words aren’t enough

*You live in a police state like Venzuela thanks, in large part, to drooling idiots who support TV and Hollywood which keeps hussein and the liberal fascists in power.*

You’re a one trick pony whose boring repetition ruins whatever message you’re trying to get across.

Yes, but even a broken clock is right twice a day.

This is the best thing that could ever happen to us. We own the house. Anything that passes the house in it’s current Republican form could get enough Republicans to pass colture in the Senate as well. Republicans take the Senate in 2012 and they don’t reinforce the old rules, and then it’s goodbye OCare!

I’ll refrain from commenting what I really think, except to say that a day may be coming to make a very physical example of some of these criminals.

Now that we will have control in the House, why would we want a filibuster rule in the House which would only benefit the Rats?

We don’t want anybody doing this because we don’t know who will be in the majority in four or eight or twelve years. Leave the checks and balances in place. They work and they are one of the few remaining reasons we remain a republic.

Let ‘em. Chances are, Republicans take the Senate and the White House in 2012 and then just watch these people whine and pout when we do the same and cite the precedent that the Dems did it first.

I rather doubt the Dems want to give that up just for 24 months of partial government control. It might get some of their judges passed and other commies confirmed but there will be tremendous hell to pay in 2013 and they won’t have Senate “rules” to fall back on once they abandon them themselves.

Democrats are evil but they’re not stupid. I doubt they do this.

So maybe it’s time to introduce a new tradition?

I've got an idea...

"Being necessary for the security of a FREE STATE,..."

Humm, I guess I should have said make darn sure there won’t ever be such a thing as a House filibuster.
