TRENDING: Oprah talks Palin, 2012 ("I would say that America's going to fall in love with her")

Washington (CNN) - Oprah Winfrey says America may "fall in love" with Sarah Palin as a TV star, but is dismissing the idea that the country would vote for the former Alaska governor in the future.

Asked in an interview with Parade magazine if the thought of Palin's running for office scares her, Winfrey responded, "It does not scare me because I believe in the intelligence of the American public."

Winfrey, who interviewed Palin shortly after her first book was released, said she was not sure if the former Republican vice presidential candidate would run for president in 2012.

"I don't know her so I can't speak to [whether or not she'll be a candidate]," Winfrey said in the interview.

But, Winfrey complimented Palin's new reality show and said of Palin's performance, "I would say that America's going to fall in love with her [from her reality series, Sarah Palin's Alaska.]"

"When I saw that first episode, I went, 'Whoa! She is charming and very likable.'"

Much attention was paid to Winfrey's political influence during the 2008 presidential election; she threw her support behind then-Illinois Senator Barack Obama early on in the race. Winfrey also hosted fundraisers and stumped for Obama on the campaign trail.

I used to believe in the intelligence of the American public too.

November 4, 2008 proved me a fool for such thoughts..

Oprah, former Reverent Wright parishioner, or Sarah Christian; I'll chose the Christian that is smart AND good looking.

I love Palin and will happily vote for her in 2012, especially a Palin /Bachmann ticket (in either order). That being said, the MSM has done such a hatchet job on Sarah that I’m afraid it may allow Hussein to sneak in for a second term. I don’t think the country can withstand that.

I was in a waiting room right after hussein was elected Senator in 2006. He was a guest on the Orcha show. I nearly vomitted watching her hump his leg. She said her contract was up in 2011 and her main goal then would be to get him elected president. She looked like some schoolgirl with a giant crush on the teacher.

It was absolutely disgusting to watch her.

Certain parts of the country have been unambiguously displaying their stupidity for decades. The good news is many of those places are shedding population in droves.....

That "election" was a feat of engineering to rival the Seven Wonders of The World.

And if you don't believe in the American people's ability to govern themselves, you have identified yourself with the Left and every ideological enemy of this country and her founders.

You sure you're on the right website?

That was the whole reason why Oprah did the show for Sarah..She thought Sarah would turn people off to her so Oprah's buddy the Muslim would have another chance at another term..I think that her plan has backfired on poor Oprah..Since we all Love Sarah and want to see what part of her life is like..Sarah has a great show and one can learn a lot from the family which is very close..That is what we need in the White House..a true great president like Sarah..

I read this morning where Obama was asked about Palin. He replied that he wasn’t concerned, because he relies on the “intellegence of the American people”.

The Left playbook includes mocking, marginalizing and making it vogue to poke at “intellegence” of the conservatives.

His remarks need to be used, but our frequently stupid party gives Obama pass after pass, rather than shine the light on his tactics.

No one fell in love with Obama. He was elected because millions of women (and a few men) had a sexual fantasy, and because millions of others felt guilty about being White.

There isn’t ANY Republican candidate the media won’t do a similar hatchet job on. Palin, at least, has shown the ability to withstand it, and tell them to shove it from time to time.
