Daily Kos Founder ‘Long Ago’ Cut Off Contact With White House
National Review Online ^ | 12/20/10 | Jim Geraghty

On page A3 of today’s Washington Post:

Another liberal movement leader, Daily Kos blog founder Markos Moulitsas, said he “long ago” cut off contact with the White House. “It’s clear that they want to double down on their capitulation strategy,” he said in an e-mail.

Those words are written in English, but I cannot seem to get them to make sense in that order.

The staff of the leader of the free world, with the world’s most powerful bully pulpit, in service of a president whose persuasive and oratorical abilities are endlessly touted, find themselves needing the assistance of the founder of Daily Kos? And when they reach out to him, he refuses to hear them? And he’s refused to respond to them for quite some time now? In other words, he doesn’t respond to their e-mails or calls, and they keep calling?

That makes no sense for Obama and his team, to appear so needy to blogger, even one with the traffic of Kos. It makes no sense to do it with a blogger with Kos’ reputation for controversy. It really makes no sense to keep doing it after he’s snubbed them.

And it really makes no sense for Kos to think he can best achieve his agenda by refusing to interact with the White House.

Good grief. They have gotten almost everything that they ever dreamed about (minus full-up amnesty for the open-borders crowd).

ObamaCare will cause our private health care insurance to collapse, which will drive everyone into single-payer.

Cut off? That sounds like an admission against interest, that could open doors. I just hope it is not dress-staingate all over again.

This silly little “man” Marky really has a very high and inflated opinion of himself doesn’t he?

Where are these people going to go? Come 2012, 99.5% of the Socialist Left will still be supporting Obama.

Between redistricting democrats into a small box, and with the increasingly, shrinking interest of Lefty bloggers, the One is not going to have near the fun on his next campaign that he enjoyed on his first. There is just no easy future for Obama, so watching him flail around, and cry out for more cash and support in his less-support reality, will call for popcorn.

The incredible shrinking president is an apt title for now.

Back in 2008, I saw a talking heads program on which Markos and Harold Ford from TN discussed Obama and Clinton.

Ford was extremely conciliatory. He had supported Clinton, but her star seemed to be sinking, so Ford wanted to work with Markos and take some of Hillary's views, meld them with Obama's views, and create a strong Democrat who could compete against the Republican candidate (likely to be McCain).

Markos wasn't having any of that. He was scornful and insulting. Hillary was a joke. Hillary's people had nothing to offer. Obama was 100% right on everything and would crush all opposition be it Democrat or Republican. Markos had no time for anyone who hadn't drunk deeply of the Obama kool-aid.

I thought it was really shocking. Ford kept trying to find some scrap of common ground, but there was none to be found on that day.

Call me paranoid, but...

The reason an article like this appears is usually as a pre-emptive strike.

I always assume that the opposite of what they (dems/libs) ‘say’ is true. If not, they wouldn’t have had to say it.

So Markos is a nutcase and an egomaniac who doesn’t listen to good advice from more moderate members of his own party.

Good. Let him continue to run the Democrat party into the ground.

Obama will get undre 200 EVs if he DOES take Markos’ calls.

These types of liberals, the younger bunch, are very unyielding and it’s a case of all or nothing with them. This guy’s immaturity is going eat him up and if and when he gets a few years of seasoning on him he might smarten up but he’s a prime example of what’s wrong with the hard left today.... they are nothing but spoiled rotten children who need to grow up.
