My guess is that Romney has made a deal with the Bush Wing of the GOP. They back Mitt in 2012. If Mitt wins, he agrees to serve one term and back Jeb in 2016. If Mitt loses (presuming he gets the nomination), Jeb runs in 2016 any way.

A Palin presidency would likely end the Bush dynasty dead in its tracks.
