First rule for bailing out a sinking boat is PLUG THE LEAK!
Until the moslems pay a price that is unacceptable to them, this will be our way of life. Not too many Kamikaze attacks since the mid 40s that I am aware of.

been checking out the reaction to all this on DU the last couple days. Not much. (yes, I sanitized...) BUT FINALLY TODAY, I see 2 articles - “What’s the Difference between a convict & an airline passenger” AND, “Boston Globe editorial against TSA latest actions.

There is a reason why there is only modest postings about this on DU: it has been taken for granted for 8-9 years that there is a near-unanimous consensus against airline security measures.

A big FR contingent is a latecomer to the game, but because security has been so successful, it is comfortable enough to increasingly adopt elements of the DU pacifist position against security, too. Even against a tiny escalation like going to a more detailed scanner. It will take another incident to remind people why.

I find it funny that red-blooded guys would faint over the prospect of one person watching a vague, machine-generated outline of a person's body parts, yet go right into the restroom afterwards and have others able to see their real junk over the skimpy urinal dividers. But, then, this is a mania, not a logical exercise.

Apparently you don’t take the Constitution seriously. Note the 4th Amendment.

There is a difference between voluntarily using a public restroom and being subjected to a mandatory Totalitarian Sexual Assault (TSA) groping.

The video of the Totalitarian Sexual Assault (TSA) of a 3 year old girl was the tipping point for many. The “Don’t touch my junk” viral video tapped into an underlying frustration of the American people, who are growing tired of this non-sensical Political Correctness (PC) run amuck overreaching harassment of flying citizenry being Obama’s “War on Terror,” instead of targeting the real terrorists.

I predict that this will not only take down TSA and turn it back to private airline run security, but it will result in the disbandment of the Department of Homeland Security and return back to the Constitutionally limited security agencies that were absorbed into it.

Rolling back intrusive and ineffective government regulations is the next agenda of the TEA Party movement. Freedom is not just a dollars and cents issue.

crotch inspectors working for a private company would be no better than those working for the government

Welcome to FR.

The difference is that private security can be fired. Airlines are in the business of making money, flying safely. They will inspect to provide real security (not PC eyewash) and no more, else they risk a consumer backlash of disgruntle passengers taking their business to a different airline. With a government run unionized TSA, they care nothing about what the passengers want, they know you have no other alternative but to submit to Tyrannical Sexual Assault (TSA).
