John Cornyn took a lot of criticism for his handling of the NRSC, especially in the Florida race, in the 2010 cycle. Cornyn later admitted that he’d made a mistake in backing Charlie Crist over Marco Rubio in an open primary, and avoided picking winners in primaries through the rest of the midterm primary season. The end result was a pickup of six seats — enough, apparently, for his colleagues to unanimously confirm Cornyn as NRSC chair for another term:

This is GOP politics as usual. IMHO, Cornyn should have been replaced, and the poll results(you can take the poll at Hotair)show mine opinion to be in the majority. Cornyn should be primaried bigtime in his next re-election bid.

I can sum up in five words what I think of Cornyn’s NRSC competence:

Colorado
Washington
Alaska
Nevada
Delaware

I just gave an earful to a caller from the Repub Natl Senate Committee, who wanted me to become a member for a year at a cost of $150.

I hadn't realized how totally frustrated I was with the national party until I got going, and it just kept coming.

When I told my hubby, he said he hoped that this would be one of the calls "recorded for quality assurance purposes".

"I can sum up in five words what I think of Cornyn’s NRSC competence."

You should add California to that list. Larry Elder wanted to throw his hat into the ring and Cornyn kicked him to the curb in order to back Fiorina. I contend that Elder would have had a much better chance at unseating Boxer.

Furthermore, it's only by the grace of God that Specter left the GOP, or Cornyn would have backed him over Toomey.

Lifetime ACU rating 93+.

So he missed the strength of the Tea Party this year. He knows better now.

The same guy who backed Murkowski a total liberal behind closed doors.
He spends his days wondering how he can undermine conservatives.

Who cares about his rating?

Will he fight to repeal Obamacare and this disaster that is about to hit America?

No the guy felt a need to support Murkowski a total liberal who lost to a conservative in the primary.

You should know better now the goals of the establishment is about power not fighting for the will of the people.

Most of the money he had went to liberal Republicans.

If I am wrong over the next 4 years I will be pleasantly shocked.

In my opinion we have one Senator that is on our side
Jim Demint and he is being grilled by the likes of Cornyn for standing up for us.

Not sure about the new comers I hope Rubio is another.

You coulda listened guys. You shoulda listened guys. WE the PEOPLE were screaming at you, but you held your ears and sang "La, la, la!"

This isn’t all bad news. Just think: with “leadership” like this, it won’t be long until the GOP joins the Whig party on the trash heap of history.

I think the ACU numbers for Cornyn(and others maybe?) have been, uh, massaged. I have kept fairly close track of Cornyn's ratings by the ACU over the years and he began a steady decline about mid-way through his first term. It seemed to accelerate right after his reelection in '08, approaching lows in the low 80's as I recall. Then in just the past year he was miraculously rehabilitated. Imagine that! Of course we can't go back and check the numbers now unless someone had done screen captures or used some other means of saving the earlier data. He got into the Potomac Koolaid...FWIW.

Remember those callers from the RNC are merely paid employes. Most don’t know the names of all the people that frustrate us. They are totally ignorant, just making robot like calls. Be nice to those workers; some will soon be on the unemployment line.
