"To put this in perspective, one has to realize that while the authors, Douglas Schoen and Patrick Caddell, are Democrats, they are far from your typical loony moonbat Democrats."

Yes. And it helps treMENdously in the weening process. They're who was really required to be the infantrymen in a few-step hold-my-hand process of Messiah Meth detox.

Caddell and Shoen have dem street cred--hard-earned through the years--no matter that they've more recently swung centerly. Their manner is well-known personally by wide measure to many. They're both known to be measURed and open-mindedly reasoned and long-fused. They're respected roundly...and are both thoughtful, gentlemanly patriots.

Caddell and Schoen know that Obama is bad for the country and Her/our future, and are very worried in a heartfelt manner. It's really nothing to them to sacrifice themselves in clearing the Bama-brush, so that the next wave of the (party) repressed feel comfortable to come forward, given their increasing fear of such an overtly retributive regime.

Though probably not part of Caddell and Schoen's gameplan, the two groundbreakers serve a second function--as a trial balloon for that next wave to come forward--a trial that's necessary to help guage the mood of Obama's super-loyalist constituency--a following that's historically been dismissive of ANY Obama criticism.

Caddell and Schoen I believe are pioneering (v)--an otherwise cursory stepping stone turned-extremely-urgent, in consideration of the suddenly shocking state of our country's leadership and future. They give the more meallymouthed or fearful leadership democrats "something they can hang their hats beanies on" to move forward.

I guess the Democrats are just now figuring out that Obama is decimating their party. If Obama runs for reelection, chances are that any more losses in the House and Senate will pretty much wipe out the Dems for a long time.  So the way I see it, since Obama will probably lose in 2012, asking him not to run is simply a way to cut their loses.

However, Obama will run for reelection in 2012 no matter what. He couldn't care less about his political party, or anyone else for that matter.

Ah, makes total sense. I wasn’t sure who the object was.

Yes, especially the “he’d be a great president if he’d etc...”.

Empty flattery, it didn’t make sense at all when I read it; because of course they don’t mean it.

Why didn't you post the names of the authors of this piece (Schoen and Caddell)?

Your attribution of the piece to Washington Post leads one to the conclusion that this piece is the opinion of their editorial board.

The Los Angeles Times is making noises too. You think they’ll release that tape of BO at the fundraising dinner?

I think many of these folks are simply taking it upon themselves. They individually recognize the cluster F*** thats going on, and few if any of them like it. Most Democrats are NOT socialists. But their party got hijacked by them none the less. They like to paint conservatives as wingnuts, that some nefarious neo-con cartel took it over, when in reality, they were describing their OWN party and projecting it onto ours.

The party of LAME!!! And they know not what they have done unto themselves.

Payback’s a bitch.

I agree. After having achieved the notable reputation of the greatest POTUS screw-up in history and having the distinct honor of having knocked Jimmy Carter out of that position within a remarkably short time, The Failed Obama Administration© should declare victory and head for the lecture circuit!

“To be a GREAT president....” Some day it might be interesting to schedule a visit to the universe inhabited by leftists.

Make sure your inoculations are up to date, first, particularly, the rabies inoculation...
