SAN ISIDRO, Mexico -- An El Paso woman and a small child were shot in the Juarez Valley Wednesday morning. Three others in the same SUV were killed.

Six Americans have been killed in our sister city in the past week.

The shooting happened shortly after 11 a.m. in San Isidro -- across the border from Clint, Texas.

According to Juarez media, the woman and small child were rushed to the Juarez General Hospital.

U.S. Customs officials said the 61-year-old woman, who suffered gunshot wounds, was then taken to University Medical Center in El Paso.

Juarez media report two vehicles with armed men began chasing the SUV the victims were in. The woman driver, they said, tried to get away from the gunmen but lost control and flipped the SUV.

The three men inside reportedly tried to crawl out but were gunned down.

The ABC-7 I-Team found the Texas handicapped license plates on the SUV were registered to Rosemary Ruiz in east El Paso.

When we went to her home address, no one was home.

Her neighbors were horrified to learn Ruiz could be the woman who was shot. They said they hope she pulls through.

"It gives me the chills. Right now I feel a little nervous," said Raquel Moreno, a neighbor.

"My heart goes out to her family. I hope that she survives and that she's fine," said Beatrice Solo, another neighbor.

Chihuahua state officials have only identified those killed in the shooting as a 17- or 18-year-old male, a 12- to 15-year-old boy, and a man in his late 20s

I was stationed at Ft Bliis for a short time many years ago when it was safe to go to Juarez. Today however, why any U.S. Citizen would go to Juarez is beyond me. You are safer in any city in Iraq and Afghanistan than you are in Juarez.

The Mexican government should start executing these drug gang members on the spot when they are apprehended. No due process.

“No due process’’. There is no such thing as ‘’due process’’ in Mexico. Mexico is a murderous kleptocracy that does not nor ever has functioned by the rule of law. Mexico will eventually collapse, probably within a few years, quite likely in the next decade. America isn’t prepared for what will follow. Pray.
