You just know The Bearded Marxist had to be behind that. Now it’s blown up in his face and he’s trying to distance himself from the childish nonsense.
He probably wasn’t. But the national Democratic party? Obama? That’s more like it.
They waited 2 weeks to print it so you know he had to know. A bit late in his “outrage”. Bet the women are flocking to Christine.
Pray for the election
On a different note, you're a lucky FReeper, with the best sky in the country over your head. Wish I was a big sky FReeper.

Coons would not be puting out this statement if his campaign wasn’t getting hammered by the voters. Just like the Aqua Buddha ad, this smear has the power to change the election overnight. The American people do not put up with this kind of crap.
“He probably wasnt. But the national Democratic party? Obama? Thats more like it.”
Doesn’t really matter if he was behind it or not. Just as it didn’t really matter whether Andre Bauer was behind the Wil Folks smear. If the voters are repelled and sickened by an action in a campaign that they believe maligns the other candidate, they have only one option to register their disapproval, that is: Voting against the antagonist who would presumably have benefited from the smear....to-wit: Coons.
In South Carolina, there were a host of candidates who could have been responsible for the Wil Folks smear. In DE, it is only Coonsie. This nasty smear is all those non-ideological “moderate” voters, who like Christine (but are ambivalent about her politics), need to pull the lever against Coons. As far as Coons and these voters are concerned, the Gawker story is a casus belli, and the only weapon those voters have is their ballot, which they will use to beat Coons over the head with. Mark my words.
Obviously the story is hurting Coons. Good...
He’s on the run. As Nathan Bedford Forrest would say, git em skeered and keep the skeer on em.
Smug SOB is about to get slapped upside the head with reality.
He probably wasn’t, but nevertheless it’s probably sent independents into O’Donnell’s corner.
Agreed. I was watching twitter a couple days ago and there was a lot of disgust with Gawker with younger women for doing what they did. This might’ve played out worse for Christine if the details of the story were different, but the details really weren’t unflattering to her.
I agree it benefits her, gains her sympathy, and hurts Coons.
Coons denounced it? I think I’ll vote for him.
Agreed. What I think it most certainly will do is cool down those people who might’ve been psyched to vote against her.
We’ve heard that R turnout is up and D turnout is down. It’s possible that D turnout might’ve been a little stronger in DE than nationally, based on all the “controversy” surrounding Christine. After the Gawker story, I don’t think that there will be fired up non ideologicals desiring to “pile on”. They might dislike Christine because they’re liberal, and Christine is conservative, and might vote against her, but there will be fewer people voting against Christine because “that’s what the media is telling them to do”. Because Gawker is media, and what Gawker did was wrong, therefore, whatever the media is telling them is wrong. It will depress non ideological anti-Christine turnout, if that was a significant number of people.
The fact that he’s addressing it at all should tell you something. The story has backfired on them.
He might just lose.
HA!
