da nada mi amigo.
Alaska politics is strange at best - you should know, you lived here long enough.
But this time - Anti-Miller ads are sucking out the oxygen - the Dems, big oil money and the Unions are terrified that Joe will win and start working to cut off their gravy.
If, however, most of the same CONs get back into the CONgress - kiss your dough goodby.
I haven’t followed it close enough.
How does Miller threaten oil?
I am in Alaska and have lived here 18 years, here is the straight dope on this.
The very liberal reporter was out for a confrontation, wanted it publicized, he was basically acting like a suicide bomber, get close to Miller, get any reaction and create indecisiveness upon the voters, in this state elections are won or lost on a handful of votes, every one counts.
Its desperation, its also a salt the earth tactic as well, if the democrats cannot get the votes they will make sure the GOP won’t get them either, and in Alaska a lot of people are latent libertarians.
Traditionally we are Republican unless the GOP leans left, then we tend to distance ourselves until the GOP regains its right direction.
Thanks for the perspective. That was what I was seeing from afar.
Another issue is this, any attachment of Miller to Sarah Palin will be viewed as a tactical weakness for the left to exploit, so what was going on recently about Miller trying to not be on Sarahs short leash was done to protect her, Joe Miller did not want to be any kind of a liability TO Sarah Palin.
I support Joe Miller completely, I am very glad he did get the approval nod from Sarah Palin and that it helped him out generously, but that doesn’t mean she controls him and that is the way it must be.

Thanks for the explanation on this. What are the latest polls on the race between Joe, Princess Liza and the Dim. Last I heard was she running about equal even with voters having to write in her name!
Olbermann was ranting about this, calling Miller’s security detail a “militia”, etc. Queef didn’t say anything about the blogger assaulting a security guard, naturally.
