The public prosecution department on Friday afternoon stated that Geert Wilders is not guilty of discriminating against Muslims. Earlier on Friday it announced he should also be found not guilty of inciting hatred.
Prosecutors Birgit van Roessel and Paul Velleman reached their conclusions after a careful reading of interviews with and articles by the anti-Islam politician and a viewing of his anti-Koran film Fitna.
They said comments about banning the Koran can be discriminatory, but because Wilders wants to pursue a ban on democratic lines, there is no question of incitement to discrimination 'as laid down in law'.
On the comparison of the Koran with Mein Kampf, the prosecutors said the comparison was 'crude but that did not make it punishable'.
Dealing earlier on Friday with incitement to hatred, Van Roessel and Velleman said some comments could incite hatred against Muslims if taken out of context, but if the complete text is considered, it can be seen that Wilders is against the growing influence of Islam and not against Muslims per sé.
On Tuesday, the prosecutors said the MP should not be found guilty of group insult.
The public prosecution department was forced to take the case by the high court after anti-racism campaigners protested at its refusal to prosecute Wilders.

I have watched Gert’s efforts and this trial from the get go...He put his life on the line in a huge way as the Islamists are after him 24/7.
This is great news for freedom of speech to oppose the Islamic threat....except in our country. ;(

Yes, I saw that...amazing truth in a very acceptable way of revealing Islam for what it is. This was actually played in Britains Parliment....but not without a fight to get it there.

“Fitna” is a true depiction of islam...there is a warning though as it shows scenes from 9/11 right from the beginning then other “hits”...as well as a beheading...but they block out the actual act just as it happens...
I know people might have weak stomacks for this..I thought I would but I needed to see the reality of Islam....and this film does it as tastefully as one could present a death cult.
As an aside, I wonder what Imam Obama thinks about today's development in Geert's trial? Depressing way to start a weekend...if you're a muslim.;-)
Aside from him politicking he can’t say much now....but I hope he and his other half continue to make the blunders they are...eyes are opened now and people are listening and continue not to like what they are hearing. He won’t say a word about Gerts Victory...likely nations with too many Moselms won’t make too much fuss...retaliation issues.

Dutch prosecutors seek acquittal of anti-Islam pol
AMSTERDAM — Dutch prosecutors asked judges Friday to acquit anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders on all charges of inciting hate and discrimination against Muslims, in a case seen as testing the limits of free speech versus religious freedom.
The move by prosecutors signaled their belief the case against Wilders was weak, although judges could still disagree and convict him. The defense begins its case next week and a verdict is scheduled for next month.

Huh? What? The United States has all of the anti-discrimination, free speech stifling laws that the Netherlands has. It's unlikely you'll do jail time for violating, but you can have your business or property seized from you and be fined and sued into penury though. Some difference.
