Why liberals are afraid, very afraid

For too long, Americans went along with politically correct liberal orthodoxy. But finally, they're taking back what's theirs.

Monday night, I performed and spoke at a wonderful Tea Party patriot banquet in Scottsdale, Arizona. The keynote speaker was conservative radio talk show host Tammy Bruce.

Tammy Bruce delivered a great speech. Ten years ago, Bruce was a hardcore liberal Democrat activist. Similar to Saul on the road to Damascus, Bruce saw the light – that conservatism is best for all people, especially minorities. As a black conservative escapee from the liberal plantation, I say to Bruce, "Right on sista!"

Another compelling statement from Bruce, the former liberal zealot: "Liberals exploit the turn-the-other-cheek Christian principle of conservatives." For years, liberals have screamed, yelled and protested their way to successfully furthering their dismantling of our traditions and values agenda with no real opposition from conservatives. Finally, thanks to the Tea Party movement, conservatives are fighting back. Not knowing how to deal with the new brand of conservatives, "Liberals are afraid, very afraid," says Bruce.

Yes you’re correct. As a former liberal I can tell you the liberating thing about being a liberal is that by simple self-declaration you declare you’re the crown of creation of political enlightenment and everyone else is a troglodyte and not worthy of engaging only hurling ad hominems .

Liberals have always owned the street. Only once before did I see the conservatives turn out. That was when they tried to move the counting in the 2000 Florida recount into a back room. The people stormed the office and the dems backed down.

But now we have repeatedly filled the mall in Washington. When they tried their effort was pathetic. Worse yet by being orderly and cleaning up their mess the Tea Partiers not only demonstrated that they were good citizens but more importantly to the dems that they were disciplined. Half a million or more disciplined individuals acting in a unified and cohesive manner scars the living excrement out of the Dems. They know that their usual tactic of taking to the street if they don't get their way won't work. This time we will be in the streets waiting for them.

Makes you wonder how someone can change from a hardcore liberal to at least what I would call a Centrist - listening to all sides. I wouldn’t call her a Conservative, but she has at least listened and learned from her previous enemies.

I would call her a Centrist and am usually in her ballpark now...that is a great change. Sometimes, it takes some sophisticated thinking to change your internal belief system.

She is certainly right now on many issues. She has yet to understand the whole spectrum of the problem...but she may.

When you understand that most Conservatives are simply decent and honest (politics aside), you might actually mature past your previous Liberal beliefs.

Until you actually understand the politics involved with your previous side, you will likely not make the complete transition. But hey, at least you understand the problem and that is the path toward the solution... Good luck with your transformation...
