There are times when I am not kind and I cannot make myself be kind. For example: Polanski. On another post, I said that the death penalty was too kind because it would end his suffering. And I know that this is not kind. Oh I know God loves Polanski and hates what Polanski did. I economize and blend the two together - hate Polanski - because I am indeed weak.

There are times when it is easier to adhere to what God would like me to be because the rest of the time, I’m really not that good at it. For Example: Clooney. I used to be a movie lover (but was never a Clooney fan) until I became sick of what Hollywood is and wants the world to be and claims about us. Now - if someone from Hollywood wants to do the right thing - I’ll cheer ‘em on. In fact, I just saw a link somewhere where the Dems are complaining that he’s not donating enough to them! CAT NIP! Hope it’s true. Hope the wealthy Libs who won’t donate money to the Sudan because they want to make a political issue out of it find that Clooney decides his money is more effective in the Sudan.
Unfortunately, I am usually only gentle when it’s easy. I had just read the heartbreaking news of a FReeper who died (RIP Alamo_Girl) and was still rather tearful when reading that George wants to help some people - that’s easy. I wish him success in helping those people. The pastor of my church said that if you own a car, you are more ‘well off’ than 99% of Earth’s population. I have no idea why I was born in the best country in the world as opposed to the country with about the shortest most brutal lifespan for Christians(my guess). The horror stories coming out of the Sudan curdle my blood - I am grateful for anyone who helps them.

I realize that many people perceive kindness as weakness. There’s stuff in the bible about that - I’m ok with it. I just wish I was more reliably kind.
