I’ll say it: More statist media going after Palin. They want to go after her for being the same way as other contestants and thus attack her mother. This is part of the show. Focus on all those rappers and leftist pimps like Lady Gaga instead of making a deal about Bristol. Hypocrisy.
That’s part of the stage when it comes to dancing. dancing is artwork of the human body. Unless they are having sex on stage, she is doing nothing wrong.
H’mm ... 25 to 27 ... yep, good years. Met DH at 25 and got married at 27.
If only he could dance!
It would do Sarah Palin and the rest of us a world of good if she could convince her daughter and her daughter’s baby-daddy to shut up for at least a little while.
Hubba-hubba....
“Thats very disrespectful to say about someone who seems to be a nice person.”
Perhaps that’s because I don’t respect her.
Why would you not respect Bristol ?
“...then I’m out here in my underwear”
I don’t think it’s really an issue until she’s out *of* her underwear.
Bristol, will you ever be done embarrassing your mother?
Aw shucks Ma...not in front of all the freepers!
Respect is something to be earned. So far, I haven’t seen her do anything that warrants respect.
I’m sure Bristol is a nice girl, but she won’t earn my respect until she does something worthwhile with her life instead of riding on mommies coattails for a living.
Going to college and getting an education would be a good start.
C’mon, Bristol, show us you’ve got brains!
The tabloids made her a celebrity, and she is justified in taking advantage of it to support her child.
<><><><><><
Well said. She is famous for being famous. Kind of like Paris Hilton without the sex and drugs. OK, without the drugs.
“Why would you not respect Bristol ?”
I don’t dislike her, but what has she done to earn respect? Get pregnant out of wedlock? The on and off relationship with some jerkwad trying to destroy her family? Right now she’s just a dumb kid and they tend to do stupid stuff. There are not of people her age I respect.
BTW, regarding my original comment, once you get yourself knocked up you are fair game for wisecracks about pictures showing you on your back with a guy on top of you. That’s just the rules.
I don't watch this show, or Jersey Shore, but who would be nicknamed "The Situation" anyway?
LOL!
It’s only porn if it turns you on.
Well, without the sex too - haven't heard of any raunchy sex tapes being released! The tabloids intruded on Bristol's life and exploited her. Once that started rolling, she could run and hide, or turn the tables and profit from it. To the tune of $250,000 - I hear that's what she is being paid for her appearance on the show. That will help support raising her child!
> Its only porn if it turns you on.
Then there’s no such thing as gay porn, right?
Hey, if you think it’s ok for a girl to be flat on her back with her dress hiked up to her hips, and a guy on top of her, on national TV for all the world to see, then far be it from me to rain on your parade.
As for me and my house, I would be ashamed if one of my daughters was to participate in such an exhibition. I pray to God they never do.
That doesn’t make me a Mohammedan, by the way. My daughters have the freedom to make choices and demonstrate their character without any fear of me. After all, how do you know a person’s character unless they have the freedom to make choices? But I will express approval or disapproval when I deem it appropriate, without anger, and without violence.
The Bible in the New Testament calls for modest apparel, and poise, to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, and to abstain from all appearance of evil.
In my estimation, Bristol’s behavior does not fit that description. You may differ, of course, and that’s fine for you and your house. But my opinion of Bristol is not good at this time.
Fairly certain there were some strong admonishments about leaving the judging of others to Jehovah as well.
He has the pay grade.
You don't.
I suspect Bristol will be the winner
Nothing to respect Bristol for?
Hmmm. Let’s see.
Decides to give her child life.
Finishes high school on time and with her class.
Starts taking business classes at the community college.
Gets full time work at a dermatologist’s office in Anchorage.
While still taking business classes.
Raises her child.
Takes a higher-paying, temporary job that will help her both raise her child and pay for her education.
Nope.
Nothing to respect here. Just move along./s
That is my kind of dancin’. You never get sore feet.
Step back!
This gig pays 400k.
How many 19 year olds have earned 400k?
400k will pay for 5.4 years( the average length of time it takes to get a four year degree) of college.
So ... it appears she does not have to depend on mom for anything. This all seems to indicate she is pretty smart.
That’s what Levi said.
Okay, so what is Bristol’s claim to stardom?
It is called dancing with the stars, right?
She’s only famous because of mom. She’s done nothing on her own to earn it.
I’m just waiting to see what she does after “dancing”.
Will she be another Paris Hilton or forge a life of her own.
Only time will tell. I hope she does.
Describes the whole show, in my opinion.
Somehow, when taking rhumba lessons many years ago, I just don't recall laying my partner on her back.
Of course, I watch VERY little primetime TV.
I agree...Bristol seems reluctant and very conservative compared to the rest of the dancers....and Henderson was/is an embarassment....she should have gotten the boot last week....what an old hag.
I saw the show...THAT was not what I remembered....if it is only for a moment it’s different than a freeze frame that looks like it lasts forever.
I had a problem when she announced her wedding plans to a tabloid media outlet, but do not see anything wrong with this. She has been sufficiently modest so that there should be no issue. There have been a lot of married celebrities on this show who have had a reputation for modesty and survived being on the show with their reputation in tact. Many celebrities often have their spouses attend workouts to ease their discomfort. In the end everyone realizes that it is only dancing.
You know, everybody misquotes that scripture. It is talking about hypocritical judgement.
Consider the following, from the very same passage of scripture.
Matthew 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brothers eye.
We are actually called upon to judge, but to judge righteous judgement, that is, not hypocritically. If you can make no judgements, how can you even determine right from wrong?
There is eternal judgement. THat has been given to the Son of God.
Then there is righteous judgement. Not judging by how someone appears, whether rich or poor, educated or ignorant, but how he behaves. That has been given to the believer to choose the correct way to live in this world and to preach righteousness, and that NOT hypocritically. If you don’t like the preaching of righteousness, then don’t mention the Bible.
There are many scriptures in the New Testament that warn against hypocritical judgement. And many will bring those up without any balance with the scriptures that call for righteous judgement.
Here are just a few of the scriptures that encourage righteous jugement.
Luke 7:43 And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.
John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
Matthew 23:23 for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith:
Acts 4:19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
Acts 16:15 And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.
1Co 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
1Co 5:13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. (How can you do this without righteous judgment?)
1Co 10:15 I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
1Co 11:13 Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
1Co 14:29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
Php 1:9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;
How about these warnings?
Eph 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
1Pe 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
1Th 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
Ro 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
1Co 5:9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators (Hollywood “stars” are nothing if they are not fornicators).
2Co 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
2Th 3:14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
There is much, much, much more. How can we discharge these responsibilities without making some sort of judgement?
I have chosen only New Testament scriptures to show that righteous judgement is not “just Old Testament”.
I cannot judge Bristol’s soul. I cannot judge her eternal. destiny. I can, however, judge her behavior, as long as I am not hypocritical about it. In fact, if I am hypocritical, I must first correct my own sinful behavior and THEN admonish others about that behavior.
I choose in my life to abstain from the appearance of evil. Am I perfect? No. But you won’t find me watching any dance shows or encouraging anybody to do so.
Very inappropriate. Not at all “ladylike”. She seems like a nice person, though.
God Lord, THAT’S dancing??
Disgusting...
America is becoming so over-sexualized, it’s ridiculous.
Ed
Bristol will be gone sometime in the next three weeks. My guess is two weeks, but any of those three weeks would not be unreasonable. She’s a better dance than either Flo or Kurt, but Flo is a much better entertainer.
At this point my money is on Jennifer Gray.
>> Going to college and getting an education would be a good start.<<
I have owned a feed and soil testing lab, a furniture manufacturing facility, and a computer store and I can tell you that College educated people make the absolutely worst employees. Typically dumb as rocks and twice as lazy.
>>I pray to God they never do.<<
Oh they will. If not them, then a grandchild. When they do will you come in here and tell us? We will show you how to not be so condescending. We will help you show them how you will support them and encourage them to get beyond the embarrassment of the mistakes in their lives and how to not listen to jabs and put downs.
I happen to agree that college doesn’t necessarily make one smart.
I’m just saying I hope Bristol doesn’t ride off mommy’s fame for the rest of her life.
I’d like to see her forge her own path through life.
If she’s as smart as everyone claims she is, she’ll do just that. We’ll see.
To me, just the fact that she made that comment says she has her head on straight and is thinking along the right lines. She is evidently aware and as she grows will mature. I admire her grit and obvious good foundation.
> how you will support them and encourage.
Two of my eleven children are already married. Both have been through the wringers of life and experienced many misadventures before they settled down. I have supported them when they tried to make things right. I have expressed my disappointment when they made bad choices. Both have come very far, and one is doing even better than I in all respects.
That does not stop me from refining my methods to lead my ine children still at home with me to avoid unnecessary difficulties by making wise choices. You cannot do this without expressing disapproval for wrong choices and encouraging good ones.

Oh my goodness I'm soooo offended.
Must suck to be you...
> Must suck to be you...
Your response says a lot about you.
None of it good.
I’ve already said I’m not perfect.
I’m sure you hold yourself to the same standard as you hold me when you criticize those with whom you disagree.
But you are the one taking the low road, so if the hypocrite shoe fits ...
That position is probably how 3/4 of all females since Eve have been "knocked up".
How do hacklehead's come to be here, the stork?
Of course, I'm also not the one describing Bristol's little dance routine as "soft porn" either.
I'll leave the casting of silly aspersions to those like you who claim Superior Moral FiberTM.
But, you are better than those on a stupid dance show correct? How else could you come to such a firm resolution that it's "soft porn"?
But you are the one taking the low road, so if the hypocrite shoe fits ...
Note: It wasn't me that watched the show. It wasn't me that started claiming Bristol should be ashamed for engaging in "soft porn".
If they'd been engaged in hot and heavy Salsa, or pelvis to pelvis Bump-n-grind, then you might have a point.
right now, you are just coming across as a repressed prude with a moral superiority complex.
