This was a fantastic movie.
I took my GS troop. The theater was full, lots of older folks, silent throughout, and big applause at the end.
A great story, nothing dark or twisted, no perversion. Anyone know how rare that is these days?
No wonder the atheists hated it- it started with profoundly beautiful and moving poetry from the Book Of Job and used a spiritual “Oh Happy Day” (and the name “JESUS”) in the climax of the Belmont Stakes

Went with the family and one of DD’s friends. Even DH, a farmer who is lukewarm to horses, liked it and recommended it to his parents.
Tore me up when Mrs. Tweedy lost her mom, then her dad. If only he had lived a little longer and been able to see their prize colt.
I saw the movie yesterday. I usually don’t like Disney stuff but this one was good. Two thumbs up from rb!
Someone on another thread mentioned that Secretariat as a genetic freak. I have to agree with that. Wiki reads that after his death, his heart was removed and found to 2.5 times the size of a normal horse.
Explains a lot for his ability to set records.
