Zero’s getting ready to bail on AStan and doesn’t care about whether the military gets along with his new stooge or not.

Not a good time for Active Duty to re-up.

It’s going to get stinky in the bunker. Only good friends will be able to live together in the ever decreasing safe places to go.

Sec. Gates had some very scathing comments about this character in Woodward’s new book. How embarrassing that our flop of a President chooses this fellow traveler to replace a Marine.

The President/Congress get to screw top military men if they feel like it. To retire above O-8 you need congressional approval, no matter of you are currently an O-9 or O-10.

...our flop of a President chooses this fellow traveler to replace a Marine...

Even in my disconnected world, I heard this was coming.
The General comes down squarely on the side of patriotism.

From an article by Susan Davis at the Wall Street Journal:

More recently, he served as Fannie Mae’s executive vice president for law and policy from 1999 until 2005, giving him control of Fannie Mae’s legal, regulatory and public policy activities and government and industry relations.

Donilon was one of several executives to leave at a time when the company faced pressure to improve its accounting practices, and he was mentioned numerous times in a scathing report two years ago on Fannie’s accounting misdeeds, when the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight accused the company of manipulating results to maximize bonuses. The report didn’t criticize Donilon but said that lobbyists under his direction had pushed for a government investigation of Ofheo in 2004 in order to undermine the regulator’s credibility in challenging Fannie’s accounting.

How can this happen? This guy is responsible for the financial meltdown. Folks, we are in serious trouble.

Donilon was part of a circle of close aides who urged Obama to push back against the military's request for a large U.S. troop increase.

Are these people on crack? Obama was the one pushing for a large troop increase - not the military.

.

Let's flashback to 2008:

Obama would increase troops in Afghanistan - 14 July 2008

WASHINGTON -- Democrat Barack Obama said Monday that as president he would send at least two more combat brigades to Afghanistan, where U.S. soldiers face rising violence and endured their deadliest attack in three years Sunday.

The clash wasn’t over Afghanistan, it was over Iran. The admin wanted to get cozy with Iran.
