We are a large potential army of upset, angry, fed-up Americans Overseas and can be tapped by many a US GOP/Conservative Congressional or Senate race, particularly those that are very close and neck-and-neck.
I know this is just me.
My wife ahs been called 3 times (from out of State) by Union toads to push the local Dem. AFL-CIO - tho the *local* union is in the tank for Lisa.
Most Alaskans I know don’t even bother to answer out of state caller or *caller masked* calls. Esp during elections.

I think you could POST a video on YOUTUBE, then send it to a list of people in the voting area..ask them to link to it! Trying to find email addresses for people in a voting district might be tricky, but if you are with the military, I bet someone has some software.
If they have not shown up at the polls, you make a brief, polite reminding call to make sure they get there before they close--or remind them a few days before election day...if possible you are armed with their polling information (location) or can tell them who to call if they are not sure and you yourself do not have it. That kind of thing. Not mindless robo calls w/high pressure. Talking about calling people already identified on OUR side. We gotta turn these people out in DROVES....
Agreed. About the fastest way to piss me off is to use my phone and phone service, which I pay for, to try to get me to support a candidate.
When they wrote the Do Not Call law, the slime sucking politicians exempted themselves.
The remote phone systems in use are setup to call you, so it does not cost you to call. You have a connected PC, the next call comes up on the screen, and then the system calls BOTH you and the voter, linking you up (its actually a 3-way call). You answer your phone, and then start talking immediately to the voter...
If you can put down the gravure and hentai and stay out of the love hotels long enough (kidding!), I am sure the candidates would love the help.

It took me forever to get into the Twitter thing and when I did, I got one for serious stuff (no politics) and one for serious stuff (politics). Since so few characters are allowed; I put a HEADLINE (in my own words) with a url http://www.putyoururlhere.com and hit enter. My tweet is now twittered.
The twitter is picked up by some search engines just like my posts on FR to reach a wider audience.
I could do this 24/7 if I wanted and I reach the people I want to reach (and some I don’t) with a tweet.
It’s free and it’s just another way to get your message out.
I fully support that you want to get out the vote.
Just understand, that in some areas - it is a turn off. Now - if you can spoof the area code.....
Is there any evidence that some stranger calling someone on the phone gets that person motivated to vote in a particular way or vote at all?
Idea number 2: Donate to the candidate(s) of your choice.
Idea number 3: Add a link(s) of the candidates of your choice to your FR profile page and your web page(s). People who wish to donate directly to those candidates can click on the links and do so.
Idea number 4: Create a clickable graphic with a brief and catchy slogan that people will want to click on. It can go to your FR profile page, your web site(s), or directly to the candidate.
Or Lisa, just sitting there, waiting for the phone to ring. Or, this is just crazy - but Just sent 10 bucs to Miller or (your choice) Crazy huh?
Sorry to be wordy, American In Tokyo, but I forgot to mention that I hang up on all callers except family members and others that I want to hear from.
The one exception is pollsters...I will answer those.

I am looking to get something done here, both as one individual, and also asking the open question on FR on behalf of maybe hundreds or thousands of remote potential foot soldiers in this battle over the next four weeks. You provided away for me and many others to be involved despite the distance. We have donated. We have linked. We have viralized videos. We have e mailed family and friends to motivate them. Now comes the phone calls.
Again, thank you for being a part of the solution tothe problem (Obama and the Congress), rather than providing discouragement or just noise.

The RNC has a web application called Voter Vault used to locate what precinct a person is in and to generate calling/walking lists, among other things. GOP campaigns have access to Votervault via the RNC. Persons should be able to contact a campaign via web, email or phone and the campaign can generate .pdf calling/walking lists and email those back to the volunteers.
