Eyewitness in Alleged Mexican Pirate Attack Case Comes Forward [ Mexico blocks US from search ]

An eyewitness has come forward in the case of the American who was allegedly attacked by Mexican pirates to claim he saw the man's panicked wife as she fled to the American side of the lake.

As a safety precaution, the witness spoke in shadow and with voice alteration to avoid identification because he said he feared for his life.

"It was hard, just remembering everything about us going in to go take pictures and enjoying the sunny day and enjoying the nice weather," Tiffany Hartley, wife of missing David Hartley, told "Good Morning America" today, just hours after returning from the emotional trip.

Surrounded by a flotilla of police and politicians, Tiffany Hartley looked somber as she gazed at the water -- the last place she saw her husband alive. The search was halted, reportedly after threats from Mexican drug cartels, but will resume today, Hartley said.

For Hartley, though, it's not enough. She called on senior U.S. officials, including President Obama, to work more closely with Mexican authorities to recover her husband's body.

"I think we need to make that up the ladder a bit, even all the way up to Obama," she said. "We really need to get U.S. and Mexico working together."

"It's hard to believe that they don't believe me, but it is a story that most people don't understand that pirates would be on a lake, that the cartel[s] are taking over Mexico. It's a story that people don't understand unless they're on that border."

U.S. officials said they're prohibited from entering Mexican waters to search for his body. In addition to President Obama, David Hartley's mother, Pam Hartley, has issued a public plea to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, asking for aid in bringing her son's body home.

Wonder if Perry has something up his sleeve with the ultimatum-sounding message he gave to Calderone.

The cartels want more than Mexico, and Americans had best take note.

The people at the top of our government are all guilty of treason. The blood of Americans is on their hands. America is not a country of laws, it’s a country where the law only applies to certain people. The government needs to be cleansed of all the filth and grime that slipped into the cracks over the last twenty years.

I predict we will soon hear stories about “trouble in their marriage”, then how certain aspects of her story “dont add up”, then a confession of murder.

Another reason to militarize the border — this is approaching an act of WAR...

Good luck with that. Officially we don't have a border problem. Obama sent a handful of reserves and the problem is all tidied up, he said so. I suspect Rick Perry only issued his ultimatum after the Feds told him they weren't getting involved.

No. You won't. Considering what is going on in Mexico and on the border, it's delusional to even make such a statement.

This story is enough to make your blood boil if true.
I’m so glad it is shining a light on the dark nastiness of Mexico’s drug gangs. We should really annex that place and clean it up.

Why not? After all, the Mexican Army intrudes onto the U.S. side all the time!

Did you not read the paragraph you exerpted? It said a witness came forward, we knew about him days ago and now he has gone public stating that he saw her being chased. He’s the guy who was out gardening.

Where does Mexico get off telling us what we can or can’t do?

The short answer to your question is that so long as US officials are getting rich from the drug trade (and they are), the Messicans will continue to have free run of our border area. border.

Did YOU read the excerpt? All it says is that he saw her driving frantically, he didnt see anyone chasing her. What makes me doubt this story is that we are expected to believe that a boatload of armed mexicans (in broad daylight) attack two people on jetskis for no reason. As they are fleeing at high speed on a bobbing jetski, a mexican in a bouncing boat also at high speed manages to hit the husband in the head (an incredibly lucky shot). After the husband is hit, the wife stops her jetski, goes back for her husband, tries to pull him onto her jetski, gives up and flees again, all before the mexicans can catch her. Sounds rather improbable to me.

Of course, she also made up the story about the search being called off due to armed threat from the Mexican cartels. Sounds like support for her story to me...

The US weeniegovernment should read this

And learn from the early Texas Rangers how to deal with Mexicans and Mexico: ride in and kill 'em off...

Yeah, it must be hard to believe the other people who are coming forward telling of similar things happening to them, including them writing "GAME WARDIN" on their boats with duct tape, fortunately they didn't know how to spell Warden or that guy might be gone too. Yep, no reason, nothing to see here, just bury your head in the sand and keep pretending nothing is happening.
