10 former San Diego city employees will split $61 million in pensions
October 4th, 2010

Ten former San Diego city employees will split $61 million dollars for the rest of their lives. Did they win the lottery? No – they will receive it in payouts from the City of San Diego pension system, according to CFFR’s president Marcia Fritz.

“I was shocked by what I discovered in the City of Bell, and I’m shocked by what I discovered in the City of San Diego. San Diego is just like Bell – only bigger,” said Fritz.

These are just two of several shocking revelations about the City of San Diego’s pension system contained in a report being released this morning. The report was compiled by Fritz – a CPA and the pension expert who revealed the outrageous pension payouts in the City of Bell.

San Diego Councilmember Carl DeMaio will join Fritz at an 11:00 am press conference at City Hall. In addition to discussing the report itself, DeMaio will lay out pension reforms that should immediately be implemented in the City of San Diego.

In all due respect to California FReepers, I still say that the land of nuts, fruits, and morons, should just fall into the Pacific.

That being said, I do not doubt that this stupidity exist
in other states and cities.

Oh yeah, my city is screwed up, my state is screwed up and the feds are screwed up. Triple whammy.

Reagan called San Diego his lucky city and his last campaign day would be spent here.

Seems ten thousand years ago now as the state flirts with re-electing Moonbeam Brown.

While I don’t wish for them to fall into the Pacific, I respect the CA FReepers, but hope that their legislature falls of of El Capitan. ;o)

You are so right about that! The lib cities are in huge trouble, causing their states to be on the brink of collapse.

In Oregon, more than half of the population lives in the Portland Metro area.

I think that I will hope that we fall into the Pacific, too...;o)

San Diego was a conservative enclave for quite sometime but it like any enclave left in that State.

In time,it just disappears into the liberal fabric of this state. It is hard to actually care about people or what is going on in your city when you are always surrounded by strangers.

As for what is going on with these guys, the same thing is happening in Los Angeles as public employees grab their spoils and make a run for the door.

True liberals to the core.

All pension plans by any local, city, county, state and federal government employee should be eliminated immediately.America is bankrupt and has been since 1933 and we cannot afford these plans.Government employees must suffer or be jailed for the GENERAL WELFARE of the country for being FRAUDS/DEADBEATS.

Public employee unions own California. Legally, these pensions must be paid ahead of almost all public obligations including debt service. The cabal must be broken.

Basically it is not even a pension plan,it is a blueprint to loot the public coffers.

This is why Meg Whitman (RINO-CA) cutting a secret deal with the public safety employee unions allowing them to keep their bloated pensions is such a scandal. Gov. Moonbeam is a disaster...and Whitman IS a whore. There is no viable conservative in the CA Governor race.
