Hmm, how many poor illegal alien housekeepers possibly guilty of fraud end up with such a prominent Leftist attorney? He represented Nasir Ali Mubarak and looks to have been part of Lynne Stewart's defense team. See below. Gloria Allred named Mark Van Der Hout as Diaz's immigration lawyer on the Mark Levin Show tonight.

Mark Van der Hout's political activism goes back years, this from 2004:

So far, immigrant Muslims and those from the Middle East and Central Asia have suffered the brunt of the Bush administration's attacks on civil liberties. But as NLG immigration attorney Mark Van Der Hout told me, "Going after immigrants is just the first step towards going after U.S. citizens." Indeed, a look at the past three years shows that Attorney General John Ashcroft's offensive has widened to include a range of citizens whose only real crime is their opposition to the Bush administration's policies.

He's considered a prominent national attorney with the National Lawyer's Guild. He's argued on Consular Absolutism before the 9th Circuit. Mark Van der Hout with Center for Human Rights.

He was part of Lynne Stewart's defense team. Another Van der Hout client:

IMHO....if Mark wouldn’t invite her, we wouldn’t still be talking about this.

We’re just keeping it alive.

Why is no one asking about Meg ... how she felt?...she was betrayed, lied to and put into a situation that she was against from the start...Liberals are all about feeling...except conservatives feelings...

The maid is pure scum. Gven a high paying job for 9 years, knew she was an illegal, and then pretending it was so wrong of Whitman to fire her.

What possible complaint does she have against Whitman? I guess illegals have a guaranteed job for life?

Whitman’s only mistake is she should have told “poor Nicky” to go straight to Hell.

I think ALL RED had a THIRD press conference today, so maybe that isn’t so.
In fact, maybe finding an extreme leftist lawyer who loves defending terrorist (from what I think I read on the net) doesn’t help Brown.
In addition IMO we’ll find BIG UNION connections to throwing the Housekeeper to the wolves here.

The woman came on national TV showing us how she forged at least a Social Security card which is a felony.

Whitman said on radio with Sean Hannity that in her opinion the housekeeper was probably somehow paid money or promised something in return for going on with All-Red.

Well it looks like this will backfire on Brown....IF he had anything to do with it.

Gloria Allred didn’t think this through. Or else, she’s not as smart as her reputation suggests.

I don't know if Gloria makes any living outside of TV, books and books of whores she represents.
IMO that is the case and means to me that she would take the risk with this housekeeper because it is first and foremost about HER (Gloria All-red).

Meet Marc Van Der Hout, the immigration attorney for Nicky Diaz, the former housekeeper and accuser of California’s gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman. Van Der Hout has a rather shady past, is usually associated with accused terrorists, and as one might expect of such a character he has given a fair amount of money .

Daniel Halper has a primer at TWS on Van Der Hout that the Democrats don’t want you to see:

Lets see here; far-left immigration attorney (Van Der Hoot), leftist personal attorney (Gloria Allred). illegal alien willing to be used as a political pawn (Nicki Diaz), revelation timed just weeks before election day? A cynic might perceive this as a political stunt meant to help a Democratic gubernatorial candidate.

Van der Hout defends accused terrorists:

From a 2002 article in the San Francisco Chronicle:

A Pakistani native who came to the United States more than a decade ago to attend flight school is being held without bail in Oakland because of his alleged ties to a man linked to al Qaeda terrorism. The Immigration and Naturalization Service claims that Nasir Ali Mubarak had an ‘association’ with Abdul Hakim Murad, who was convicted of a 1995 plot to bomb 11 U.S. airliners and who allegedly admitted connections to Osama bin Laden. Marc Van Der Hout, Mubarak’s lawyer, said his client freely admits having known Murad in 1991 and 1992.

From a 2004 article in the Los Angeles Times:

That group, the Moujahedeen Khalq, or MEK, has been on the State Department’s list of terrorist organizations since 1997.... Federal investigators have not produced any evidence to show the Mirmehdis were MEK members, not even after a government informant testified that he recorded between 200 and 300 conversations with cell members, according to court records and attorney Marc Van Der Hout, who is representing the brothers.

Turns out Van der Hout’s the brains behind the Nicandra “Nicky” Diaz Santillan Dream Team. He he was part of yet another Dream Team pairing with David Cole as co-counsel of the “LA; that resulted in the release of illegal Arab nationals. Van der Hout and Cole bought enough time in the courts for their defendants to become permanent residents of these United States.

Both men’s groups submitted Hate America reports to the UN Human Rights Council in support of the Obama Administration’s UPR. Their reports were part of the 423-page joint US human rights report designed to rip America to shreds in the eyes of the international community.

Van der Hout’s Meiklejohn Civil Liberties Institute couldn’t care less that most of the Democrat’s minority demographic can’t ID the Vice President of the United States, but recommends:
