If he wins the nomination, it will be because he is an exceptionally skilled retail politician who can communicate a kind of midwestern, common sense conservatism that is ascendant in reaction to liberal profligacy. It will be because of skills and values he learned in Murdo.

Besides being a senator, Thune seems pretty good, although I read that he was one of the GOPers who opposed John Bolton. That bothers me a bit.

I looked it up for a thread last week and can’t find the link..I am not declaring I will vote for him..just saying what I read..He votes for his constituants’ interests it seems...(big farm bill that Bush vetoed..IIRC)
He is a social conservative I also read.
It is too early for me to get too attached to ANY candidate.
Everyone I supported for 2008 fell one by one.
