MADISON — James Byrne, 70, of 34 Hotchkiss Lane, was arrested today in connection with the Sunday bomb threat called into police headquarters against a house where a Republican political fundraiser that featured GOP Senate candidate Linda McMahon was being held.

At the time of the bomb threat, there were about 50 people, including candidates for statewide office, at the 554 Boston Post Road home of Republican Town Committee Chairman Tom Banisch.

The threat was called into police headquarters at about 4:35 pm. Police, assisted by the state police bomb squad responded. The house was evacuated. The bomb threat was later determined to be false.

Typical liberal demwits from some of the comments. A perfect example of what we are up against.

Article does not say he is a Dem operative but it would not surprise me. Also a moron I guess since he should have known you can;t get away with a stunt like this.

Imagine though if some right winger threatened a Demo gathering. It would be huge news and the lefties would be screaming about the climate of hate, etc.

Thanks for the update. Does not surprise me at all. Since I assume the “news” media are not going to play this up the way they would if a conservative did it, I wonder if McMahon should make an ad about it to get some sympathy or show how dirty the Dems play. But I suppose she is better off continuing her excellent ads about creating jobs and pounding the Dems for hurting the job market.
