The French Senate has voted overwhelmingly for a bill banning the burqa-style Islamic veil everywhere from post offices to streets, in a final step toward a making it law.
The Senate voted 246 to 1 Tuesday in favor of the bill, which has already passed in the lower chamber, the National Assembly.

Perhaps this is an example of Muslims living the common law, but then again, we’ll just have to see how this goes.

Get rid of the veil, clamp down on these mosques and certainly look at how these imams around the country are getting their money.

An interesting develoipment. I am anxioious for all of you to weigh in.
France does not have First Amendment protection for speech or religion. They also ban the wearing of the yarmulka or cross for public employees (most of the working population.)
Headscarves are one thing, but a full face covering veil/mask prevents a person from being identified, and IMHO, is dangerous.

most muslims women only wear that veil in the west to show us that they’re muslims like to them it is a badge of honor.
They need to understand that this is the west, it is Christianity which made this region.
We go by our laws not some cave dwelling political ideology which is what they want and are now getting here under this pansy in the white house.

Theirs cover their faces. Ours won’t cover their feces. That’s quite a divide.
I personally like the idea of banning burqas, but for the U.S. it really isn’t acceptable to ban anything - other than nakedness in public.
And as I recall, nakedness on French beaches isn’t unknown...
