My hand to God. If you look at the 500-post thread from yesterday, thackney and I both posted statistics; mine are BOEMRE (former MMS) from 1996 to now. I did the math, and the average is 72 a year, so yeah, one every five days or so, of varying degrees of severity.
Yesterday’s, in the broad scheme, wasn’t bad at all ... only 13 men on the rig, one injury, and it looks like he’ll be okay. No oil spilled.
It’s an occupational hazard of being a roughneck ... the safety procedures teach you what to do WHEN a fire occurs, not IF. Volatile materials, high pressure, metal on metal, torches, and smokers make it pretty much a given.
so what do you say about the news reports of a mile long oil slick if there was no spill?
Same as I make of reports that the platform was in 2500’ of water.

ONe would think in the internet age and the ease of research that the media would FACT CHECK, but it seems that the opposite is true. THey make NO ATTEMPT to fact check and LIE THEIR ARSES OFF to stick to the agenda!
There was never any mile long oil sheen or slick or whatever.That was a blatant LIE. That was just the liberal mainstream media purposefully lying again.
Also,the BP “oil spill” was no disaster. Where is the oil spill now? There is no oil on the beaches nor anywhere. The liberal media lied again. The media lied to destroy the oil industry and capitalism.
People have to stop believe these marxists/democrats who say they are reporters.
Even on a conservative site many on here have been posting for months on this BP “oil spill” and also on the H1N1 or swine ful “pandemic” . Where are these and other crisis now?
