For years we had a Farside cartoon taped to the lunchroom cabinet at my old company. The scene it depicted was of a meeting of the board of directors of the Wonker Wiener Corporation. On the wall behind the chairman was a giant picture of a Wonker Wiener in a bun; the wiener was oriented cross-wise to the bun.

The chairman was addressing the board with these words: "Gentlemen, I have determined that the Wonker Wiener Corporation is riddled with incompetence."

The BBC sucks along with all TV

I agree, and their tentacles extend far beyond TV. Every other foreign report on NPR(adio) is from the BBC. They also have a huge web presence.

I blame them, at least in part, for the state of Britain today. Their stances on immigration, government, social programs, etc have prevented previous generations from being fully informed about what was happening in their country. At least there's some hope now that the internet has come along. The next ten years will be very interesting for the UK.

Yeah, well, Nazism (National Socialism) is about as far left as one can get.

The BBC sucks along with all TV. It is used to control and manipulate the masses.

Since many conservatives seem to believe this, why do they still own and watch TVs? Starve the beast and if it doesn't die, it will at least be weakened. I got rid of mine ten years ago; frees up time for more important things in life.

The director general of the BBC admitted Thursday that his organisation had been guilty of a "massive bias to the left" but said "a completely different generation" of journalists now works at the broadcaster.

"had"?

With apologies to Monty Python:

NPR PROGRAMMING: Bring out your left! [clang]
Bring out your left! [clang]
Bring out your left! [clang]
...

CUSTOMER: Here's one -- nine pence.

BBC: I'm not a leftist!

NPR PROGRAMMING: What?

CUSTOMER: Nothing -- here's your nine pence.

BBC: I'm not a leftist!

NPR PROGRAMMING: Here -- he says he's not a leftist!

CUSTOMER: Yes, he is.

BBC: I'm not!

NPR PROGRAMMING: He isn't.

CUSTOMER: Well, he will be soon, he's very crazy.

BBC: I'm moving to the center!

CUSTOMER: No, you're not -- you'll be fully Stalinist in a moment.

NPR PROGRAMMING: Oh, I can't take him like that -- it's against regulations.

BBC: I don't want to go in the cart!

CUSTOMER: Oh, don't be such a baby.

NPR PROGRAMMING: I can't take him...

BBC: I feel fine!

CUSTOMER: Oh, do us a favor...

NPR PROGRAMMING: I can't.

CUSTOMER: Well, can you hang around a couple of minutes? He won't be long.

NPR PROGRAMMING: Naaah, I got to go on to MSNBC -- they've lost nine today.

CUSTOMER: Well, when is your next round?

NPR PROGRAMMING: Thursday.

BBC: I think I'll read some Thatcher speeches.

CUSTOMER: You're not fooling anyone y'know. Look, isn't there something you can do?

BBC: I love Reagan... I love Reagan.

[whop]

CUSTOMER: Ah, thanks very much.

NPR PROGRAMMING: Not at all. See you on Thursday.

CUSTOMER: Right.

It certainly wasn’t changed in 2007!

“Out of touch” is a good description, and paid for by all of the TV owners in the UK with a yearly fee of around $200...

BBC confesses bias on religion, politics (execs saying Bible tossed in trash OK, not Quran)
WND ^ | October 23, 2006

A senior BBC executive admitted to the British paper Daily Express, “There was a widespread acknowledgement that we may have gone too far in the direction of political correctness. Unfortunately, much of it is so deeply embedded in the BBC’s culture, that it is very hard to change it.”

BBC “had” a massive bias to the left. Now it has colonized a narrow slice of the left so thoroughly that they cannot see anything to the right and there is very little to their left and they think they are in the center above it all.

BBC is always at the top of the list of news sources that your typical leftist points to as a good place to get impartial unbiased reporting.

‘staff were quite mystified by the early years of Thatcher’ Staff =lefty baby boomers stuck in 1968...

You missed the truth, they became less liberal as the boomers entered the BBC.

"30 years ago", in 1980 the boomers were 16 years old to 34 years old, as they entered into employment and started maturing through the ranks at the BBC, it became less liberal. In the year 2000, the boomers would have been the 36 to 54 year old employees at the BBC.

The MSM; so desperate, they might even try reporting the facts. It’s too late, IMO.

That reminds me of the old joke:

A. "Trust me."

This big change, of course, is why British sailors demanded BBC be turned OFF on their ships of war involved in the beginning of the Iraq war.

They were disgusted by the continuing and pervasive left wing propaganda.
