Matamoros prison breakout reported[40 escape]
THE BROWNSVILLE HERALD ^ | August 22, 2010

A Mexican news organization reported a massive breakout from the Matamoros Prison.

According to Proceso, the breakout took place Wednesday night when an armed commando arrived at the prison and freed 40 federal inmates.

Mexican law enforcement officials would not comment on the purported breakout, and as of Saturday morning there had been no official statement about such an occurrence.

A source with firsthand knowledge of criminal activity in Mexico confirmed the escape and said jail breakouts have become a common technique for drug cartels to fill their ranks in the ongoing war between the Gulf Cartel and the Zetas criminal organization.

The source attributes the breakout to an armed commando of the Gulf Cartel which has made a recent push against Zeta strongholds in the central and southern part of Tamaulipas.

Two weeks prior to the breakout, 14 alleged Zetas were killed with homemade knives during a violent conflict at that same prison in the Santa Adelaida community near the outskirts of Matamoros.

In recent days Matamoros has seen a spike in armed conflicts with several sporadic shootouts throughout the city including on 6th street, Avenida del Nino and Lauro Villar Avenue.

On Friday an artifact believed to have been a grenade was thrown outside the Gran Hotel Residencial. It did not explode, but authorities had to blockade the area to retrieve the device.

I think Mexico is going to have to shut itself down (problem - it’s a very big country) and just go street by street to get the country under control.

One of the problems is that drugs are flowing freely from South America via Cuba and Venezuela, and Hugo has managed to destroy Venezuela’s legal economy to the point where he is desperate for money and the Venezuelan drug industry has absolutely soared. I don’t think Mexico is strong enough to hold up, and of course Obama is not interested in supporting Mexico against his idol, Hugo, so Mexico won’t get the support that Colombia got (under Reagan and Bush) in fighting against the Marxist-drug lord combo. And even that took years and years.

You present the solution, you must know it is not going to happen. Mexico is a failed state. The US must face that fact. There is no law and order. The government does not run things. The (economic) refugees will continue to pour across your southern border at a rate of one million a year. The barbarians are invading and will continue to do so until you build the fence.

Why doesn't Governor, Rick Perry, sent our Texas National Guard to secure our border with Mexico.

Because he is a p*ssy.

I wonder if legalizing drugs would help the situation in Mexico. The drug war has escalated to epic proportions and is driving Mexico toward civil war or societal breakdown. I also wonder if the US Fortune 500 companies that sent their manufacturing wings down to Mexico are getting a little nervous at this point. Wages might be high in the United States and the Unions could break a window or two but nobody is going to throw a grenade into your office and kidnap your children if you don’t pay protection money.

Mexico is not a failed state...yet. One of the big stumbling blocks to aiding them, however, is that we refuse to acknowledge the extent of the problem because the drug merchants are affiliated with Obama’s BFF, Hugo Chavez, and his Godfather, Fidel Castro, and Obama actually doesn’t want to interfere with their funding.

Mexicans are not barbarians. Those who are not involved in the drug trade are as good or bad as any other group, including Americans, and the big reason for their desire to get to this country is not because they want to “invade” but because they want to escape the violence and instability that has taken over their country. This happens any time a country becomes unstable.

Personally, I think the drug trade should be crushed in this country as well and drug users should also be penalized. But it’s never going to happen because, as in Mexico, there are too many people making money off of it one way or another. Or, as in the case of Obama, they want to protect it because it is the leading funding source for the radical left (including Islamist groups) in Latin America.

They are having the same affect on the US as the goths and visigoths had on ancient Rome. They are robbing, kidnapping, pillaging. They have no respect for the laws of the country they are invading. They don’t speak the language and they do not follow the existing cultural mores. The only difference is that the goths were tall, blue eyed and fair skinned.

Mexico is headed for a massive collapse. Those with the means are fleeing Mexico by the droves. I’m noticing a big increase in Mexico license plates on really nice cars around San Antonio and elsewhere that I travel in South Texas. Escalades, various Lexus models and the other luxury vehicles are all running around. All with the heavily tinted windows that are necessary to obscure who and how many people are in a vehicle. Once enough of this kind of really big money leaves, the tipping point will be reached. I think it’ll happen by next summer.
