Journalistic Malpractice - Time Magazine’s Bobby Ghosh and CNN’s Ali Velshi on ‘Cordovan Ecumenism’
Big Journalism ^ | Aug , | Andrew G. Bostom

Posted on 08/23/2010 5:19:18 AM PDT by Rashputin

Thursday during the 1 PM hour CNN’s “Newsroom,” this exchange took place between CNN reporter Ali Velshi and Time Magazine’s deputy international editor Bobby Ghosh:

VELSHI: The name Cordoba- some people are associating it with Muslim rule and bloody battles, when, in fact, Cordoba was one of the finest times in relations between the major religions.

GHOSH: Exactly right- in interfaith discourse-

VELSHI: Yeah-

GHOSH: And the great mosque of Cordoba that people are talking about and that Newt Gingrich was talking about- the man who built it, the Muslim prince who built it, bought it from a Christian group- paid money for it and bought it from a Christian group. And there was not a lot of alarm and anger raised then.

These statements are journalistic malpractice—ahistorical, whitewashed drivel—compounded by Ghosh’s ad hominem attack on Newt Gingrich.

There is an obvious agenda being played out just as there was during the election when everything about Obama was either hidden or dismissed by being buried in trivia or slander. It seems to me that those in control of the media KNOW that Obama is a Muslim and are working day and night to make Islam acceptable enough that they can make Obama a two-fer, the first black president and the first mulsim president. They probably know they can't keep it hidden much longer and are trying to make a silk purse of a sows' ear.

Ali Velshi, who CNN passes off as an economic genius, is a comparative religions major from Canada. He is a Democrat propagandist, as are all of CNN’s anchors.

When Constantinople fell to the Muslims, they slaughtered the inhabitants, then rebuilt the City and invited Christians and Jews to come and do business in the city.

Nothing new here, then of course there were several Islamic invasions of Western Europe from the springboard of Spain, but hey, the Prince paid cash..

“Cordoba was one of the finest times in relations between the major religions.” Do as we say, remember your place, and we won’t kill you, at least not today. Yup. Very ecumenical. But then, that seems to be CNN’s view of the latitude to be given to the Obama government. “They aren’t asctually shooting you, are they? So shut up and just pay your increased taxes, already.”

That's a good point. You may be right.

Cordoba was never anything but a sign of Islamic conquest. Since Islam is a “religion” that shuns learning and is anti-individual and anti-capitalistic, enforcing these things through its economic and political law (sharia), Muslims have always needed non-Muslims to actually work and produce income. Once they subdue or destroy the native population, they will then work out arrangements where certain productive groups (Christians and Jews) are allowed to remain simply so that they will have somebody educated and industrious enough to keep the tax revenue coming in.

Christians and Jews were never “equal” in Islamic Spain. If they were allowed to live and continue, it was only because this was more profitable to the Muslims, since we have all seen how well Islamic societies do once they exterminate their productive Christian and Jewish members. Look at the festering pits of poverty and ignorance that constitute Islamic lands.

Thanks for the link. Yeah, the left is still scared to death of Newt for some reason and takes every cheap shot at him they can.

I especially like the part about John Edwards having a child with his mistress while milking his wife's illness for sympathy. Oh, wait, they were talking about Newt for doing a Clinton on his wife without providing her alternate a cigar, not Edwards. Sorry. I just get so confused then leftist volk start to point out moral flaws in Republicans.

Wow! What a vicious, spiteful article. Somehow trying to make Newt Gingrich seem like the leader of the Christian hosts is a little silly (although I notice the author did manage to get in a mention of the fact that Gingrich is now a - shudder! - Catholic).

Also, I loved the fact that the author believes the real issue is jobs and that the building of the mosque will be sort of a stimulus project. Gack.

One wonders why the left worships this bunch of headchoppers. Maybe it’s because headchopper central wants to eliminate Western Civilization too.

“They’re everywhere and we are on to them.”

Now we need to start going after them. “Pick the Target, Freeze It, Personalize It and Polarize It.”

It worked for Alinsky and the RATS. Time to give them a taste of their own medicine.

These people have learned NOTHING from history.

These people will not love us if we bend over for them, they will merely laugh at our foolishness and continue on their centuries-long plans.

“They'll LIKE us if we do nothing after the WTC was bombed!”

“They'll LIKE us if we do nothing after the Cole was bombed!”

“They'll LIKE us if we elect Obama and get rid of the eeeevil Republicans!”

No. They'll LIKE it when we are subjugated or dead.

They just put over twenty thousand out of work in the Gulf for no good reason so build the mosque down there if it's a jobs project. Damn, that's a slender thread even for the airheads that pass for intellectuals on the left.
