This would reduce fraud.

Why doesn't Congress pass a law on this?

The GOP should take this up as a bill and put Obama and the Dems on the other side of another 70-30 issue heading into the 2012 elections.

Here in IL they don’t even ask for ID. Hell I have to show more ID to buy cold medicine than I do to vote.

We don’t have to show ID where we vote, but I’ve always thought it odd that we aren’t asked for it. It would be very easy to vote in the name of someone else here where we live.

The GOP won’t take this up, because they will fret about overreaching and getting that 18% mad at them.

And I’m not joking. Even on issues like this (where the country overwhelmingly supports it) the GOP insiders will listen to the MSM medai pundits and beltway advisors about “going easy” so as to not get people upset.

you have to be a liberal to think being forced to show ID to vote causes someone hardship, but being forced to buy insurance does not.

American voters only have standing in American Idol voting.

The easy way to solve this is to require the use of a social security number to vote (along with an ID), and to make sure that no number is used more than once each election, and to automatically delete numbers upon death and also to cross check that the person is eligible to vote.

Obviously, this practice is not used state wide in the Show Me.
In St. Louis county, fewer than a half dozen voters visited the polls by 8:30 and they recorded 34 votes.

The result was Claire McCaskill.

I think 100% of Presidential candidates should show their birth certificates too.

If they did require ID in Illinois, death certificates would have to be an acceptable form of ID.

So the overwhelming majority of voters know that voter fraud is rampant. This is good news.

Better news would be doing something about it by demanding a remedy.

Dis allow absentee postal voting.

To vote one must be present

Sick? too bad
Disabled? too bad.
Lazy? too bad
Traveling? too bad
Military? The military must provide ballots from online sources
