Next week, Arizona voters have a chance to do something really important for the Republican Party. Eliminate a key RINO (Republican in Name Only) and clean out some deadwood in the United States Senate. John McCain has been a major stumbling block for conservatives for decades.
In an interview with Glenn Beck, Rick Santorum said this about his former colleague: "On almost every major domestic policy issue that I dealt with over the last six years anyway when I was in leadership of the Senate, John McCain was not just on the other side ... (he was) condemning people who hold the position opposite to you and sort of buying into these fallacious arguments that the left would argue on and everything from ... importation of drugs to global warming to immigration."
Unfortunately, Arizona voters have short memories. Maybe it's the summer desert heat. Maybe it's their age. (Arizona has a larger-than-average retirement community.) Maybe they are blinded by the beauty of Sarah Palin who had no choice but to endorse her former running mate. More likely, it's his $20 million media blitz against a worthy primary opponent, J.D. Hayworth.
There is no limit to the amount of money a powerful and rich incumbent like McCain can raise. McCain has outspent Hayworth 10 to 1. No surprise there. What is surprising is that the majority of Arizona voters appear to be fooled again.

What Arizona voters need to ask themselves is, if they are unwise enough to re-elect McCain, how many days will it take for him to return to his old open-borders, amnesty ways. And other RINO-isms.
Anyone voting for McCain deserves him.
I'm reminded of the old tootsie pop commercial: "Mr. Owl, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?"
As I recall, the answer is "three". But that may be optimistic.
The only problem is while Arizonians may vote to keep him in office the entire country gets shafted, and may possibly die, with his leftist voting and pandering to the commies.
But... but... but... Michaal Medved sez that McCain is a Great Conservative.
I mean it.
8^O
Not to worry. When Martha Coakley was running against Scott Brown, she put on an ad featuring Victoria Reggie Kennedy. The ad oozed a sense of entitlement—”the next Senator WILL BE Martha Coakley”, with no mention that she even had an opponent.
That pretentious, pseudo-aristocratic ad bombed big-time, and helped Scott Brown win. Sen. Brown CAN beat Victoria Reggie Kennedy. The Kennedy dynasty is DEAD!!!!
I wish that I could say the same for the horrible Serbophobe and muslim-kisser McCain.
Ah, Mr. Santorum, why are you not in Arizona telling every Republican voter, who will listen, exactly this? Comments on Glenn Beck aren't enough, get out to Arizona and stop McCain. Jeesh!
An interesting thing about the Victoria Kennedy story is that, while she is being urged by some folks to run for his old Senate seat, the Kennedy family is pressuring her to move out of his house in the Kennedy compound so they can turn it into a museum in his honor. (Barf) In other words, she has no value herself, but is valuable only as his widow, for political purposes, and only as long as she stays humble enough to know her place in the hierarchy, which is low on the totem pole.
I listen to Santorum when he’s subbing for Bennett. He came out in support of McCain early on in the primary, he’s still upset that Paul won in KY, and has conceded DE to Castle, while literally dismisisng O’Donnell.
I like Santorum; he seems like a nice guy, but he’s status-quo Republican and while not a RINO, he seldom bucks the party establishment.
Sums it up pretty well. Additionally, I see Bennett exactly the same way. But he is a true Neo-con and they are mostly RINOs. Bennett strongly pushed McCain in the presidential primary.
CNBC had a news clip on hayworth.
They confirmed:
McCain sees it as HIS seat.
McCain sees his role as taking ted kenedy’s place as the lion of the sentate.
McCain is the chuaua saying “you quiero taco bell”
he is totally undeserving of respect. REGARDLESS of his past military service.
As OldMissileer points out, Arizonans aren't the only ones affected by his continuance in office. A vote to retain impacts us all.
You are so right - and I shouldn’t have been so flippant. I’ve been disgusted with the King of the RINO’s for many years - and yes, his evil impact is extremely harmful to our country.
