Via Breitbart. Normally I wouldnt bore you with three mosque posts in a row but this is such a thunderbolt coming from a true-blue lefty that it wont wait. I cant imagine that Dean-o really believes what hes saying here; the mosque is too much of a cause celebre on the left at this point for him to deviate for reasons of conscience. Presumably hes simply so terrified by the polling on this issue that hes willing to do whatever damage control he can to mitigate losses in November. (Hes a former head of the DNC, remember, so hes used to thinking in electoral terms.) If so, thats a good idea: A new poll out from Gallup within the last hour or so shows 37 percent disapprove of Obamas comments on the mosque last week versus just 20 percent who approve. Those numbers arent disastrous for Dems given that most of the opposition comes from Republicans, but the split among indies is 21/32 overall and 15/27 on the question of whether one strongly approves/disapproves. As Geraghty noted earlier today, theyre already getting killed among independents in various tight Senate races so they cant afford to do any more bleeding. I think this is Deans attempt to fashion a tourniquet by signaling to lefties that its okay to take a more moderate position on this issue in the interest of making it go away. Think theyll listen? Me neither.
Exit question: Will the same Democratic thoughtcrime investigator charged with examining Harry Reids opposition to the mosque also be responsible for investigating Dean-os?
When the Muslims took over Palestine they built a mosque on the very site where the Jewish temple had been torn down. Building a mosque on Ground Zero is like a dog marking his territory. Islam thinks it was victorious on 9/11 and to the victor go the spoils.
Is Howard Dean still alive?
HOWARD DEAN IS INTOLERANT! Send him back for re-grooving.
a democrat can say this without consequence and without being accused as a bigot. This is essentially the same view of the republicans.
First note that Dean doesn't say that the mosque shouldn't be at GZ, or that he doesn't approve of it's location. He doesn't even propose asking the 'them' to move the mosque. He simply expresses the naive wish that those in charge of building the mosque would voluntarily choose to move to a less sensitive location. Probably because of the political hit his party is taking.
The Left doesn’t care about the mosque being built on the open wound of 9-11. They’re only angry that Obama muffed the issue. All politics, all the time. They don’t give a damn what Americans think/feel.
Whoa, even Dr. Demento?
Indeed. And now they realize they have a white hot emotional issue around their necks 2 months before the Nov midterms, amongst already sinking poll numbers.
And Obama put it there.
And the evil Breitbart got it !!
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
The fact that Dean might seem to be making sense here is simply a random event and is totally accidental. Even a broken fool tells the correct time twice a day if he talks long enough. Or is that, “Even a dead pig finds an acorn of truth once in a while”? Oh, neither you say? Well, whatever.
What a bigot Howard Dean is.
Left wing moonbats are very unhappy that so many Rats agree with Republicans on this issue.
Here’s how they’re framing it: Republicans are EVIL, while Dean and Reid (etc.) are merely COWARDLY or WEAK.
Meanwhile, liberal columnists pretend that only Republicans are speaking up against the mosque.
Great analogy. I'd love to see this as a cartoon, maybe with a large dog wearing a collar that says "Militant Islam" or something, p!$$ing on the iconic ruins of the WTC (those beautiful arch-like columns that held up the first 3 stories)
On Special Report yesterday, Bill Crystal said Dean is positioning himself for a primary run against Obambi.
Figure he will need to take a number.
