Why not? I've looked at the occupational equivalency studies ~ our agency (USPS) was required by law to do them on an ongoing basis, so they were always readily available.

Start with the standard that you have "no felony convictions".

This and other studies like it ALWAYS drop USPS employees ~ and unless they show them in the analysis they probably aren't there.

So, you take a bunch of white collar workers and compare them to a mix of white collar and blue collar workers, and conveniently leave out of it ALL private sector FLSA exempts with salaries above the federal max.

“I am not surprised. When the government becomes master rather than servant of the people, the masters always make more.”

Now, how hard will it be, do you think, to convince federal workers to take arms against citizens?

They can join the rest of the work force and be forced to produce and be paid for producing, or they can threaten a few citizens, audit a few people, pass a few “security regulations”, put a few boots on the necks of business and citizens, find an ass or two to kick.

Wait until they start deputizing regular GS staff and arming them and sending them against citizens (making overtime pay, of course) just for a show of force.

I think that federal workers are so lazy, so overpaid, and so scared of what will happen to them that they would kill citizens - in an “I was just following orders” manner - all so they can preserve their padded way of life.

Think New Black Panthers times 2,000,000.

You’re a Fed, right?

How angry would you get if you got a 50% or more haircut on your pension? What would you do to preserve it? More importantly, what wouldn’t you do?

Bunch of dumb people out there that think civil service workers are getting over on the public. Wonder where this movement started and why?

You know that comedian - Jeff Dunham - Achmed the Dead Terrorist ~ think about it.

In the meantime I contributed AFTER TAX INCOME to a retirement fund that actually is something like $75,000,000,000 in the black due to overpayment.

How would you like it if I simply held a pistol to your head and had you sign over all your property.

Same thing jack.

“Bunch of dumb people out there that think civil service workers are getting over on the public.”

It looks like you might be another scared federal employee/retiree that is worried about the pay/benefit cut you’re about to get - so much so that you can’t even write a comprehensible sentence.

That’s how you guys think.

Naw, that's how everybody thinks when they know someone intends to steal their stuff.

I have ZERO tolerance for theft. And that's ZERO, as in 00000000. So don't even think about it.

"Federal workers earning double their private counterparts"

What part of 'counterparts' don't you understand? It's same same comparison.

This is happening everywhere and us taxpayers are footing the bill. While we scrap around trying to survive out here, they are living the high life.

They get incredible benefits, paid time off and awesome retirements.

Where I live we recently had county officials going to Pebble Beach and other golf courses to study them (on our dime) so they know how to host the U.S. open when it comes here. What a crock!

When they figure they need more money for raises or whatever their hearts desire they raise taxes saying it will save our police and fire services. I am way beyond SICK of them. They are thieves!

When it’s time to take on the fat federal pigs, they’ll run. These fat boy fascists want nothing near a fight.

Just to assuage people that I’m not involved in BS, here’s the report:

This was the firebox that the city of Oakland found itself in last Thursday. Around 2:30 p.m., word leaked that the verdict in the Johannes Mehserle murder trial would be read at 4 p.m.—the news set off a mass exodus of residents that was just short of resembling a panic, reported the San Francisco Chronicle.

According to reports, downtown streets were flooded with people trying to get out of the city center. Trains were jammed, and the interstates filled up.

AT THE FEDERAL BUILDING, loudspeakers warned workers to head for home.

There you go.

The leftist federal pigs will run.

Obuma will build a force as big as, and as well equipped as the US military...

What a chunk of BS.

When it’s time to populate the battlefield and kill the fascist pigs in DC, we’ll need dogs to track them down and flush them out of the bushes.

Grammar? Might want to get some....I really hope you just forgot the /SARC tag. Seriously, did you mean to post that sentence? I find it hard to believe.

But, just in case you are serious, in answer to your likely question, the reason this “movement” started is because the taxpayers fiiinally got wind of the outrageous benefits that have been/are being promised to public workers (who used to be known as “public servants”).

In decades past, public servants did not make as much salary as their private sector counterparts, so government workers received generous pensions/benefits to compensate for it.

Today, due to cozy union/government relationships (versus adversarial union/government relationships), elected government officials ensure generous benefits and salaries to unionized government workers in exchange for votes and campaign contributions. This phenomenon has flourished in IL and particularly in Chicago.

Google “Bell, California” for an example—I believe I read that the Mayor makes $800,000 in the very middle to lower middle class town of Bell, population 40,000 where average workers make $30,000. It is outrageous.

I live in Illinois—we are now on a debt watch list tied with Greece, and this “honor” is due to UNFUNDED PENSION LIABILITY—for unionized State employees. Other states in similar situations are Michigan, Cali, NJ, etc. This issue has been discussed by Rush, Hannity, Levin, etc. They are not “Bunch of dumb people out there,” and if you were serious, I really don’t appreciate being included in that characterization of “dumb people out there” either. I just don’t want my children to be saddled with Atlas Shrugged debt from our current unfunded pensions and other government spending.

This is “where the movement started and why.”

The discussion is about federal employees, not state and local employees...... For the most part federal retirements are paid for by the employees themselves through a rather steep savings plan. On the other hand, state and local retirements in many states are just garbage ~ like that thing in Bell California ~ ......The source claimed for the conclusions contained in the various news releases (which are all suspiciously alike, and from Leftwing sources, and sound like Journ0List junk) is at: http://www.bea.gov/newsreleases/national/gdp/gdpnewsrelease.htm

Hmm, "the fat federal pigs" ~ that would be mostly postal workers and civilian workers for Department of Defense.

So you want to run around shooting your mailman and the defense analysts who keep foreign armies out of our theatres of interest.

So who do you work for?

muawiyah, I really, really hate stupid strawmen, and I respect your opinions a whole bunch.

For Pete’s sake, try to do better than: sergeantdave is advocating machinegunning mailmen.

Once in awhile, I get checks from mailmen, and I love them for that. I even like the McDonald’s coupons mailmen deliver.

It's a joke man, just like the letter carrier who kneels and fires with an AK in the Simpsons.

Just flipped it on you ~ BTW, there's a guy who fired up a letter carrier out in California while he was getting set to kill people at a synagogue ~ he went on trial, got convicted ~ no doubt he'll be one of the first released to cut prison costs eh!

BTW, these days when they clear out a federal court house it's pretty much just DOJ folks in there, or people who work for the courts.

Most other federal agency field offices are SOMEWHERE ELSE ~ and if they aren't they're being relocated as we speak. Has to do with the OK City bombing ~ most folks focused on the bomber, etc. Federal facilities folks focused on "How'd he get so close" and "Why the federal building when catacorner the US Post Office didn't get hurt".

There are reasons for that ~ like somebody at USPS cares and nobody at the fed does ~ but we won't get into that.

I'm not surprised they cleared that courthouse. I really wonder why they called everybody in to work that day!

The fed job paid more. I read an article by a high ranking government official who said that because of all the baby boomer fed employees who are retiring that the govt is actively seeking people in the private sector, including those who have retired in order to get a fresh approach; as opposed to those who have worked in gov all their career.
