That's actually sort of dangerous. When my SIL got back from his 2nd Iraq tour, he was a bit.... twitchy. Besides having respect for his service, it just seemed prudent not to piss him off.I was working as a waiter at a restaurant during the Grenada invasion, and a few weeks after I was serving a table that included a Ranger... A few tables over was a birthday celebration with some balloons, and when one popped, the Ranger was on his feet in an instant and his chair went flying...

What do you suppose the ethnicity/religion of the clerk was? Possibly Asian ie Indian subcontinent - you know, Hindu, Sikh, or "other"

” I mean what possible reason would they have to think that someone in uniform should not be served?”
.
Coop basically means Communist.
They pulled this same $hit in the ‘60s and ‘70s on ‘nam vets.

That didnt happen very often. And what do you expect? Soldiers are not policemen trained to have restraint. In fact the military encourages aggression.
In any case, the social prejudice against redcoats is a lot older than victorian times. It probably reaches as far back as the Interregnum (1650'ish) and for far better reasons.

The law in question relates to serving police officers in uniform, as a personal license holder the manager should have known this. I work for the co-operative and even I am disgusted at this.
