Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has appointed Natural Resources Defense Council western director Felicia Marcus to the Delta Stewardship Council.
The seven-member panel, created as part of the 2009 water policy package, is tasked with crafting and implementing a plan for the future management of Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
Marcus, a former EPA administrator and Los Angeles Board of Public Works commissioner, replaces another Schwarzenegger pick, Richard Roos-Collins. Roos-Collins, an attorney for the Natural Heritage Institute, resigned earlier this month after his nomination was opposed by environmental groups.

we pay more now for water because some socialist judge
ruled that the delta smelt must be protected.
They’re on a mission.. and could care less who they screw over to accomplish it.

About NRDC: Mission Statement
The Natural Resources Defense Council’s purpose is to safeguard the Earth: its people, its plants and animals and the natural systems on which all life depends.
We work to restore the integrity of the elements that sustain life — air, land and water — and to defend endangered natural places.
We seek to establish sustainability and good stewardship of the Earth as central ethical imperatives of human society. NRDC affirms the integral place of human beings in the environment.
We strive to protect nature in ways that advance the long-term welfare of present and future generations.
We work to foster the fundamental right of all people to have a voice in decisions that affect their environment. We seek to break down the pattern of disproportionate environmental burdens borne by people of color and others who face social or economic inequities. Ultimately, NRDC strives to help create a new way of life for humankind, one that can be sustained indefinitely without fouling or depleting the resources that support all life on Earth.
The environazis have taken over.
Arnold makes me long for Gray Davis.
“Ultimately, NRDC strives to help create a new way of life for humankind, one that can be sustained indefinitely without fouling or depleting the resources that support all life on Earth.”
And they, in their royal seats, will decide what life should be like and what’s sustainable and impose it by force on the plebe.
We already have a sustainable system - it’s called the free market. It automatically takes care of limiting the use of stuff that’s in short supply in favor of what’s more abundant.
I know this lady. She’s a classic “watermelon” - green on the outside but red to the core. She came up through Mayor Tom Bradley’s administration in L.A. and then was appointed by Bubba to head EPA’s San Francisco office from 1993 to 2000. She lives to destroy free enterprise and private wealth (excepting that in the hands of her fellow would-be overlords). Arnold is screwing California big time with this appointment.

Where have all of the Arnold defenders gone?
