Frank’s bill would not only override existing federal and state laws prohibiting gambling, it would give the government extraordinary access to personal information, as well as to tax the Internet.

Sure. Why not? Let's have a new tax, and maybe have a look at my shopping habits or whether I visit "subversive" internet sites while you're at it. FU Barney, and all of your Gestapo pals.

Let's start with the most simple question. Does the Federal government have the clearly enumerated power to regulate gambling? The answer is no. When anyone advocates the unconstitutional expansion of the Federal government they can count me out. If you feel strongly that the government should regulate gambling then the conservative constitutionalist position would be to advocate for an amendment that authorized this power.

I gotta go with the fag on this one. The government has no business interfering with what I choose to do with my money. That’s what private property is all about.

Nearly 67 percent of Americans are opposed to decriminalizing Internet gambling.

I don't believe these figures, one of the reasons we lost in 2006 was because of the outlawing of internet poker.

Life is a gamble... the biggest legalized gambling activity in the world is betting on the housing / stock / oil / gold markets. All of this can be done by the internet.

Anything of value in life is a gamble / risk. There will always be the weak in your life like your friend Bill.

The only reason he wants to legalize it is so he can tax it. No thanks. I’m do just fine with it being so called “illegal” and I don’t have to pay any vig to these money grubbing whores in government.

Right now, internet gambling, while technically illegal, goes on daily. You can go on-line and play the slots, with the operations run through American Indian sites. Trying to stop these operations is futile.

Same thing as a lot of other things made illegal because someone doesn’t like it. It’s not the Government’s business. Legalize it, put reasonable regulations in place so that US operations can compete, and get income taxes from their operations.
