And how is the GOP going to stop him from voting as his constituents want him to vote?

I didn't hear his constituents tell him to vote for this or they would have voted for Coakley.

If he wasn’t the 40th vote he’d be just another Snowe. A Republican in a liberal state trying to please everyone.

No, I think everyone knew he was a RINO. With RINOS, you get 60/40 or maybe even 70/30 and a chance to get rid of them later....sometimes 6 years later.

Having 41 senators makes it a tad better though we never know how those special three will vote. A stronger leader in the Senate is called for. One who understands how to hand our committee assignments and campaign money.

That was a good answer. Unfortunately, if Massachusetts wanted a conservative that votes the way we want, they would have nominated one in the primaries. Given how far to the left Massachusetts is, I’ll settle for as close to the right as I can get from there.

McConnell thinks Brown is too conservative.

I was thinking this morning that of the 38 Republicans who vote against the Financial Reform Bill, how many of the 38 actually wanted the bill to PASS. I think Brown and the Maine twins may just be cover for a larger block of RINOs that know they would be toast if they voted with the Democrats. I’m sure there are many more weak-kneed RINOs who think that this bill will actually line their pockets, or somehow keep the economy from ever having a bad day.

The 41 R Senators may have been united against Obamacare, but that was partly due to the fact that they were shut out of the negotiations. I truly don’t see the big govt. dragon ever being slayed without a.) DC being nuked b.) Voters regularly scrutinizing politicians and the votes the politicians cast, while keeping a daily log of what each Congress member has done. There are only 535 to keep track of. I vote for option B.

Any politicians who votes for a “comprehensive” bill that is over 1000-2000+ pages should be severely scrutinized. We should realize that a bills this large, by their very nature, are not merely laws, but chains with each link intended to shape the nation in the image of the legislative gods of social policy. The outcome is tightened control of ones enemies and bounty for ones friends.
