I love this woman.

She is articulating what she has thought about, and has a clear solution to.

The what to do with those who are still here, and jump though the hoops, needs to be considered more thoroughly. Don’t speak before you’ve made up your mind. Anything that may be an off the cuff remark, or just thinking out loud, then becomes fodder for being made a hypocrite.

If Sarah had ever made her position on border security, law enforcement and the amnesty question clear, you could have quoted her views in a half dozen sentences instead of space equivalent to several 8 1/2 x 11 pages.

Nope, she has not made her position clear, especially on amnesty. Any reasonably intelligent and coherent person could state their position on these questions in a few sentences, and Sarah is yet to do that. She is obviously hedging on the amnesty question, as others have pointed out.

Good post. The truth is the narrative has been set that we all want Comprehensive Immigration Reform. That is not true.

Even the GOP parrots the same BS.

The people would be perfectly happy if existing laws were enforced. An end to anchor babies and free stuff provided by taxpayers to those who enter illegally.

Thats not hard. All this crapola about registering, going to the back of the line, paying fines, learning English will never be enforced any more than the last time with far fewer people involved.

Don’t forget the chain migration of 3rd world relatives that will also invade to live off the taxpayer freebie dole and vote democrat forever.

I like this post, this is a good statement of facts regarding her immigration beliefs. Beautiful thing about, she doesn’t have to spell out these beliefs until she is running for sure. She will be concrete on every aspect of it before her run, I am sure of it.

"They came on their own and they will leave on their own when what they came here for is no longer made available to them; jobs."

Not just jobs, but welfare, too. Those who aren't taking jobs from Americans and driving down wages are busy cranking out the next generation of welfare leeches and spending our tax dollars.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

That will never happen, there will be many that just won’t register and tracking them down will be impossible.

All this claptrap means is they will get amnesty. And don’t forget the chain migration in the name of compassion.

This will effectively be the end of conservatism and the US.

"Those that do register will not be rewarded for their breaking the law she says...but is not clear on exactly what she would do with them. At points she sounds like she wants to filter through that bunch and find some way of letting those that want to work be involved with some kind of temporary work program (which I am leary of and needs a lot more detail)."

I agree with your assessment. On this 4th point though it's important to understand that enforcement causes attrition. While the fence is built, and we enforce existing law, Illegals will leave and the number we'll be sorting out later will be significantly less.

We'll probably into Palin's second term when it's time to take on the matter of what to do with those that are still here.

I believe she’s referring to having them register as resident aliens. That begs the question, “What for?” The only reason would be to legitimize them and extend to them a pathway to citizenship.

No reward? Evidently your and my citizenship is of no value whatsoever, thus not a reward.

I’m beginning to agree with her.

And if she puts a $1000 fine price tag on it, just how degrading is that?

I thought our citizenship was priceless. No, it can be bought for a thousand bucks.

Imagine that. A $1000 fine buys them all the health care they could ever want, and a full K-12th grade education for as many kids as they can produce. That’s not to mention all the other perks.

Just remember... that’s not a reward.

It’s a pathway to a reward. That’s entirely different.

Thanks for the ping Jeff!

Sarah is the most open, honest and effective candidate to come on the scene in my lifetime.

No wonder the RINOs and ‘Rats are scared of her. Pols are allergic to immutable truth.

No, you’re deceiving.

Registration would force them out in weeks, just as the INS raids on work sites cause them to leave in droves.

Palin is the answer to every issue we have.

Lets cut through the crap. I have not heard one politician with a complete idea on how to handle the illegals. All is get is sound bites that mean really nothing and no complete answer. And if we were honest any attempt to be specific would result in spin that would eliminate this politician of ever getting elected. Anyone heard of catch 22. Damned if you do and damn if you don’t. If you are looking for complete answers you just don’t understand this political world.

Every pol that supports amnesty says he or she doesn’t support amnesty. And if Americans are getting ‘first crack’ at jobs—that means illegals are getting second crack—or, those who came here illegally are far ahead of all others in line for what is almost guaranteed to be eventual American citizenship. I’m a big backer of Palin but I think she’s still out to lunch on this issue, however she pussyfoots around her position.

You’re hearing her say what I’m hearing her say, DoughtyOne. She still has to tighten up on this issue significantly, IMO.

There’s no reason for it to be harder to keep chicken farms from hiring illegals than any other employers. It’s perfectly enforceable.

You’re trying to hold Palin to a more ridgid standard than your imaginary candidate that hasen’t addressed the issue at all.

Palin is the only one that is dealing with it.

“It’s perfectly enforceable.”

Got an example since Eisenhower?

Isn’t the current regime sueing AZ to stop enforcement?
