Homosexual 'weddings' should be celebrated in church, says Chris Bryant...(UK)

Homosexual "weddings" should be celebrated in churches, a Government minister has said in defiance of religious teaching.

Chris Bryant, who once posed in his underpants on a gay dating website, said he wanted clergy to be "much more open" to the idea of treating civil partnership ceremonies like traditional marriages.

However, his suggestion goes directly against the rules of the Church of England and the Roman Catholic Church, which state that only the union of a man and a woman can be celebrated by a priest in church

It comes as the Government is pushing through an Equality Bill that religious groups fear will force them to give jobs to homosexual youth workers or secretaries, even if their faith maintains that same-sex relationships are sinful.

The minister replied: "All my friends who have entered into a civil partnership refer to it as their 'marriage' or their 'wedding' so the most important issue is that nobody should be discriminated against because of their sexuality.

"I would like to see churches be much more open to the idea of gay relationships or partnerships being celebrated in church."

The Church is used for Holy Matrimony - the union of a male and female to make a whole.
Two people engaging in some kind of weird sex fetish is not considered Holy. Nor is it anything like Matrimony. It's nothing but dysfunctional sex on steroids, so take it back to the rest rooms where it belongs.

This is exactly why some religions are against gay marriage. They knew it wouldn’t be long before they were forced to sanctify them. The Libs keep proving us right, and unfortunately, no one cares.

The church should not be mandated on what ceremonies they can or cannot perform for whatever reason.

Stay in the United States and thank God for the establishment clause.

Precisely!!!

In the UK, and other European Nations - the old feudal system is still in the DNA. Add to that innate deference, the Christian guilt for the Crusades, the colonial guilt for industrial/resource expansion into undeveloped countries, the guilt for 1776, the guilt for all other perceived offenses, coupled with a reverence for Eton, Cambridge and Oxford trained nannies - we once again have serfs and servants under the boot of a nanny state. Deja vu medieval again.

Homosexual divorces, however, deserve their own reality show! Oh, get the popcorn, Michael and Chad are going to gouge each others’ eyes out over the Liza Minella autograph and custody of their 2 siamese cats, Celie and Sugar. Oh no, you DIDN’T claim the Titanium cookware from Germany!! You bitch!!

They should build special chapels in toilet stalls.

This is just the beginning. Sadly, many Christian Churches in England are being used as Mosques, Community Centers, Theatres etc., because they have no congregation or sufficient collections.

Wait for those same government cretins to ask that the Churches be forced to perform public post-abortion blessings on the wombs of the wanton. It will be called health care.

As I read it (mostly from Mark Steyn) the U.K. has been circling the drain for some time. As the welfare state slowly disintegrates, Muslim influence is growing stronger and stronger while loony-left politicians keep pushing evermore radical ideas - and apparently, the British people are buying into all of it. Bureaucrats from government agencies with nice-sounding names attempting to ‘mandate’ that independent churches perform ‘weddings’ for same-sex ‘couples’ is just another move in the direction of oblivion for jolly old England. Too bad. I always wanted to visit London. Not so much, now.

Yep and then it will come to America and preachers who adhere to the Bible will be arrested for refusing to marry them.

Liberalism is not about solving a problem. It’s about forcing others to share your misery.

Plenty of Unitarian churches out there that will happily perform the ceremonies, no need to force other churches or temples to perform a ceremony the congregation doesn’t want performed.

Thats exactly why they want it. They are advancing their agenda. They want to go into territory where they haven't been allowed.
