More... judge stayed his decision until it can be reviewed by appeals court...

Yes!
I predict Mr. Pathological Narcissist in Chief will go into his usual, default Lefturd mode of attack and whine about how unconstitutional it all is and how they are going to fight it, blah, blah, blah.
Cheers

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A federal judge in New Orleans has blocked a six-month moratorium on new deepwater drilling projects that was imposed in response to the massive Gulf oil spill.
Several companies that ferry people and supplies and provide other services to offshore drilling rigs had asked U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman in New Orleans to overturn the moratorium.
*snip*
Feldman says in his ruling that the Interior Department failed to provide adequate reasoning for the moratorium. He says it seems to assume that because one rig failed, all companies and rigs doing deepwater drilling pose an imminent danger.
BHO might be happy about this. He’s keeping the wackos happy that he tried something, without creating $7 a gallon gasoline.
Love it! Judge Feldman is a law grad from the university where I work and is the President of our Law Review Board of Advisory Editors. I’m so happy he made the right decision.
Wonder what the outcome was of his swat teams that were sent out right after spill. He claims the moratorium on drilling is to evaluate safety, but no oil experts are on the investigation panel.
That's routine.
... the Court has found the plaintiffs would likely succeed in showing that the agency's decision was arbitrary and capricious.
I think the judge's parallel to the safety of aircraft is a good one. Granted, the harm of this failed drilling operation is immense, but that does not mean ALL drilling activity presents the same risk.
Folks, you forget that Chicago style politics are in play. Any OSHA or EPA inspector worth their salt can find oodles of violations.
At an oil facility I worked at we had to add safety features to railroad docks which had not been in service for years. It was literally more dangerous to perform the modifications than to just let the dock sit. I had never seen anybody on these docks until we had to do the OSHA updates.
