Olbermann leaves Daily Kos By: Andy Barr June 17, 2010 01:33 PM EDT

Keith Olbermann announced Wednesday night that he will cease blogging for the liberal Daily Kos over a comment directed at the MSNBC host’s coverage.

Olbermann and some of his MSNBC colleagues surprised their left-leaning fans on Tuesday with eviscerating critiques of President Barack Obama’s Oval Office address on the oil spill spewing off the Gulf Coast.

“It was a great speech if you were on another planet for the last 57 days,” Olbermann said of the president’s remarks, echoing similarly negative comments from fellow MSNBC hosts Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow.

One commenter on the Daily Kos, where Olbermann has frequently blogged over the years, speculated that the pattern of hosts generally sympathetic to the president bashing the administration was too consistent to be a coincidence.

“Can’t verify, of course,” the commenter began, “but a friend in the news biz tells me he got a damaging e-mail from one of his pals at NBC. Something to the effect that their anger was pre-planned because ‘beating up on the president has been good for ratings.’ I haven't checked, but I'm hearing that Olbermann slammed the speech on Twitter before it even started.”

It`s always good to see people who aren`t afraid to be critical of ANY political leader. At this time in our society people think politicians are just like them, that they`d be our friends if only we lived next door to them. We support and get emotional over leaders who appear on our TV sets. In reality, we have been so swamped with TV that we forget that politicians don`t know us, and they have agendas having nothing to do with what we think. Politicians aren`t our friends but necessary parts of society`s machinery. Whether Obama or any D or R or Independent, politicians should be evaluated without fear of hurting our imaginary friends.

DUmmie FUnnies is my favorite FR feature because it shows the lunacy of the `Leave Brittany alone!`mindset of political partisans. Olberman is a silly putz who can`t take a word of criticism, so it`s hilarious to see him victimized by the Obama fans he has fed his bilge all these months. But it`s sad to see how many silly people don`t think the president can be criticized.

Not sure I’m buying any of this. EVeryone knows that the KOS kids and Olberman wanted the same thing out of the president and his pedantic speech. They all want nothing less than a brutal brow-beating of BP and Big Oil, with a side order of Capitalism Sucks.

Gee, a conspiracy theory got rid of Olberdork?

Lets start some more!!!

“Olberman gained name recognition by reporting against Clinton during the impeachment hearings - he’s doing it again to boost his sagging ratings”
“Olbermann still has feelings for Laura Ingraham”
“He wants to be a full time sportsbroadcaster”

Keith only knows how to complain. He got exactly what he claimed he wanted when 0bama got elected and couldn’t handle it.

Conservative broadcasters are better then that as they knew how to deal with a republican president without losing it.

One trick pony Keith has lost the dims now he only has the whackos that even the dims don’t want.

Keith cracked under the pressure.

Keith lashed out at his precious honeycomb hideout since lesbo Maddow got to go to a White House lunch and political fiction writer Larry O’Donnell’s new show will knock Keith’s repeat show back an hour costing him even more viewers. Even tingling Matthews got to do a hackjobumentary with NBC monies about the emerging right.

One bad week for Keith and he rolls over on his loyal friends.

Keith is becoming a Norma Desmond over at MSNBC and I am sure that that is entharling to both of he viewers.

... Obama held an off-the-record lunch Thursday at the White House with several prominent political writers and pundits: the Washington Post’s Eugene Robinson, the Wall Street Journal’s Jerry Seib, the New York Times’ Gail Collins and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. (Arianna Huffington was also invited, but according to her own White House reporter, she couldn’t attend because of a scheduling conflict.)
*****these media persons are getting their talking points today

Olbermann has flirted with trutherism, accused Bush and deibold of steeling two elections, accused the CIA of allowing the “panty bomber” onto his flight, and now accused the GOP of rigging the election in SC so Greene would win. Among many other things Im sure. Hes got some nerve to blast his KOS buddies for conspiracy theories.
