Mr. Shuck n Jive - Art Garfunkel

Tell us once again this morning, old friend
how did you win the war?
Everybody loves a hero,
it won't matter if we've heard your
tale before
Tell us of the time when almost

everybody knew you were a star
And how intelligent you are
Prove that you're alive
Mr. Shuck 'n Jive

Tell us of the man who stole your for tune
and nearly ruined your life.
Or better still-the one about the t.v. and
the couch and your best friends' wife

Tell us of grand projects never finished
with somebody else to blame
And all the reasons that your fame
never did arrive
Mr. Shuck 'n Jive

If you can get yourself together
kindly write a criticism of this song
How it's exquisitely constructed, yet
mechanical, and somehow slightly
wrong

Put it in your book about the enemy
you never even met
You know, you just might make it yet
But I don't think you'll survive
Mr. Shuck 'n Jive

You know, you just might make it yet- Mr. Shuck 'n Jive

“I think it’s fair to say, if six months ago, before this spill had happened, I had gone up to Congress and I had said we need to crack down a lot harder on oil companies and we need to spend more money on technology to respond in case of a catastrophic spill, there are folks up there, who will not be named, who would have said this is classic, big-government overregulation and wasteful spending.”

Two things.

1. You didn't say any of those things. So don't give yourself credit for taking a stand you didn't take.

2. Even if the GOPers protested... SO WHAT? You guys run Congress, and you can pass any bill you want, regardless of what your critics say about it. (See also: health care)

He's making this so easy, it's taking the fun out of it.

“If” I had done this and “If” I had said that and “if” I had taken this action... “They” wouldnt’t have supported “me”

therefore- it’s BUSH’s FAULT

(Pelosi and Hollywood applaud wildly)

(remind me- When has congress yet shot down on one of his rule-by-fiat executive orders?)

President Barack Obama said Friday that some members of Congress should share the blame for the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

Is sharing the blame a step up from blaming Bush? President Obama actually acknowledges that his administration is at fault. I would guess that Obama shares 99% of the blame.

His administration was too obsessed with bail outs, health care, and cap and trade; no worries about the debt approaching 100% of GDP!

For 20 years there has been a LAW ON THE BOOKS about Oil Spills.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Hussein, start kicking your own miserable ass!

THE OIL POLLUTION ACT OF 1990 CHARGES THE WHITE HOUSE WITH CLEANING UP THE MESS. SO YOU HAVE FAILED BIG TIME, HUSSEIN!

OPA, among other things, amended Section 311 of the federal Clean Water Act. Section 311 now provides in part that: (A) If a discharge, or a substantial threat of a discharge, of oil or a hazardous substance from a vessel, offshore facility, or onshore facility is of such a size or character as to be a substantial threat to the public health or welfare of the United States (including but not limited to fish, shellfish, wildlife, other natural resources, and the public and private beaches and shorelines of the United States),
the President shall direct all Federal, State, and private actions to remove the discharge or to mitigate or prevent the threat of the discharge.

(B) In carrying out this paragraph, the President may, without regard to any other provision of law governing contracting procedures or employment of personnel by the Federal Government–

(i) remove or arrange for the removal of the discharge, or mitigate or prevent the substantial threat of the discharge; and

(ii) remove and, if necessary, destroy a vessel discharging, or threatening to discharge, by whatever means are available.

P.S.: CNN reported yesterday that on the day of the memorial for the victims (a month after the explosion), HUSSEIN ATTENDED A FUNDRAISER. Nice move there, jerkoff. Real caring.

Or to put it simpler, this is one of the few things the Feds are constitutionally (and legally) supposed to be on top of. If Bummer had his way, the Federal gummit would be so busied out it could do nothing about a spill like this. Cloward/Piven.

Someone told me yesterday that Obama was refusing international assistance, including some sophisticated Saudi oil recovery vessels, due to union objections under the Jones Act. This frankly sounds like an urban legend to me. Does anyone have information?

I hope he gets the help he needs. There is something clearly wrong with him.

Yes, immature, petty, and thinks the simplest arguments are clever, even though the average 7th grader can make more rational arguments.

How did we end up with this clown in the White House? I thought the Clinton's were trailer=park trash, but they had double the "class" of the Obamas.

Disgusting/embarrassing situation we're in.

GOP shares the blame for spill

Bush cited BP for at least 6 safety violations.

You gave them an award, and as a result of taking record breaking money from BP, you "rubber stamped" their requests, and rushed Deepwater Horizon into production.

This is not "Bush's fault" you're wearin' this one.

.

.

.

.

Then you deliberately polluted the Gulf!

The marxist left out the Boy Scouts in assigning blame. Be a hoot if BP got control of this spill and found out thay have tapped a huge, unending ammount of oil that went so far as to drive the world market for oil below $10. This may be what’s worrying the Marxist so much/mostly.

Yeah, Barry - we know how much you wanted to shut down your BP buddies after they helped sponsor your campaign . . .

And we know that you have been just dying to admit that you share the responsibility for the banking implosion your community activism was instrumental in spawning, even while George Bush was POTUS and gets the blame.

You are the president. The buck stops with you. You had a huge majority in Congress, and you are pretending that you wanted to shut down BP but Republicans wouldn't let you. Now you're shutting down half of the oil industry - and we're supposed to believe that Republicans are to blame when the price of gasoline - and just about everything else - goes up in consequence.
