Fox News ^ | 06/09/10 | Jana Winter

Standing in front of a wall-to-wall mural featuring a who's who of revolutionaries, including Ho Chi Minh, Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, and boldly displaying the motto Patria o Muerte, Venceremos!!! (Fatherland or Death, We Shall Overcome!!!), a group of teachers, students, parents and community activists in the Los Angeles Unified School District gathered last month for an unusual field trip — to Arizona, to protest that state's controversial immigration law.

Jaime Escalante taught at this high school. The teacher's union hated Escalante because he set a high standard for his students.

LAUSD can’t even be called a subversive group anymore - they are an outright enemy to our way of life.

They will be provided taxpayer funded box lunches so they won't spend any money in Arizona.

“after he was identified making incendiary remarks in a widely circulated YouTube video that shows him speaking at a 2007 rally for La Raza, a revolutionary group calling for Mexican revolt inside the United States.”

I thought advocating the violent overthrow of the U.S. government was a Federal Crime.

I think an AR-15 chambered in .308 is a good choice for this kind of situation, no?

I wonder if they've also forbidden their students victims from spending money on Coke, candy, souvenirs, etc. Given that the kids are already acculturated to believing what they're told, taking government handouts for partisan purposes, and despising everyone with the misfortune to be white, what's one more restriction on their economic freedom?

Standing in front of a wall-to-wall mural featuring a who's who of revolutionaries, including Ho Chi Minh, Fidel Castro and Che Guevara,

Illegal under California State Law.

There is a prohibition on teachers and schools in California advancing or advocating Communism. Been on the books a long time. Democrats want to end the law.

More lack of enforcement of existing law.

California Dems Introduce Bill To Allow Communist Indoctrination in Public Schools (Little Green Footballs ^ | 3-06-08 | Charles Johnson)

From the PDF of the text of the bill:

"This bill would also delete provisions regarding a person who intends to use school property on behalf of an organization to deliver a statement, signed under penalty of perjury, that the organization is not a Communist action organization or Communist front organization required to be registered with the Attorney General of the United States or does not, to the best of that person’s knowledge, advocate the overthrow of the government of the United States or of the State of California by force, violence, or other unlawful means.

...This bill would delete provisions that a permanent or classified school employee, or a classified community college employee may be dismissed from employment if he or she is a knowing member of the Communist Party.

...This bill would delete provisions that prohibit a teacher giving instruction in a school or on property belonging to an agency included in the public school system from teaching communism with the intent to indoctrinate or to inculcate in the mind of any pupil a preference for communism. The bill would also delete provisions that a teacher may be dismissed from employment if he or she teaches communism in that way.

Apparently the boycotts were not causing the hoped for difficulties, so now it will be up to the “chirrun” to stir things up. What a disgrace that parents would permit this. And since when are thugs and murderers like Castro and Guevara considered “revolutionaries??”

That’d be an AR10, not an AR15.

That said, I still prefer my NM M1A.

Ah - the same logic as curbing our dependence on foreign oil by closing all domestic oil producers....

How about an M1 Garand?

I thought you could get an AR -15 in .308, or is an one of them in .308 called an AR10?

I can not tell from the article -

is this a trip planned and funded by LA taxpayers?

Or did an ad hoc group of lefty teachers take some lefty kids and their parents to Arizona in an extra curricular manner?

Too bad state troopers didn’t lead the field trip all the way across the U.S. border and then left them there.

It would be extremely poetic if some of the "teachers" and students were found out to be illegal aliens and the AZ authorities put them on the other side of the border!!!

"¡Porque! ¡Porque! Where is my nino?"

"Sorry, Lady there's nothing we can do about getting your kid back over the border. This seems to be YOUR signature on the Che/polPot/Stalin/Marx/violent/racist/hatred promoting/communist/revolutionary/brain deficient field trip permission slip."
