The Gulf of Toxico.
Thanks, BP.
Thanks, President Tar ball.
Bastards.
And that is how I'll think of him from now on.
I grew up going to Florida every spring to visit my grandparents--swimming in the Gulf. This whole mess is absolutely disgusting.
dispersants = ‘Snot Balls’
effective = Not
“President Tar ball.”
With your permission, may I use that?
BP contradicts government claim on oil plumes
Company’s COO says apparent differences may be due to semantics
BPs Suttles denies deep Gulf oil plumes
June 9: BPs chief operating officer tells TODAYs Meredith Vieira that the latest capping method is capturing 15,000 barrels of oil per day and that the firm has found no evidence of large oil plumes swirling deep within the Gulf.

Please, spread it far and wide.
I was even thinking of having some T-shirts printed. I really think it is a very fitting nickname for him.
We go to Florida every spring break “Palm Beach Gardens” with the kids (in-laws live in the PGA, it’s like Paradise on earth). Anyway, I realize of course that is on the Atlantic side but I don’t think we are going next year (the first time ever too). You see, it’s a family tradition, the kids love it. We play in the surf probably 8 hours every day for like 7 or 8 days, there is no way I’m getting in that water next year. About March of next year is probably just about when the residue and toxins will be over there. It’s heart breaking, I love the oceans, I have made my kids great swimmers and they love the pounding surf, the bigger the waves the better. Ugggh what a mess.
I started going to Pensacola beach when I was 5 years old. Throughout my life, that beach has always been special to me. After Hurricane Katrina, I moved over here to FL, and I started going to Navarre Beach, which is one of the most lovely places I have ever seen in my life.
Now for this to happen, to have to watch this is tearing me apart. I hate the bastards who did this. I ****ing hate them with everything I am.
Thanks Chris
It absolutely sums it up in a nutshell.
I hope the folks on the Gulf are thinking about a modern version of Noah’s Ark and begin rounding up as much the wildlife and fish they can in order to take care of them until the Gulf is clean and alive again which could take a long time.
The sight of those oil soaked penguins dead and dying is heart wrenching. One can only imagine whats going in the deep, we will never see it, only the results.
Scythian,
I hope and pray that you and your family will be able to continue your family tradition. It is a terrible loss.
Best Wishes to you and your family.
Me too, I know just how you feel.
First, God bless these divers for taking the risk of getting into that water. Clearly what we see on the surface is but the tip of the iceberg. The disbersents despite it’s proponents have had terrible effects on the oil. The giant slicks underwater and those strange fibrous twisted strands of oil floating at various depths are uglier than sin and acting as toxic drift nets for passers by.
As much as I am for drilling we really need to learn from this and have the supplies, a plan, and proven techniques to cap these wells if need be. The scary thing of course is these 3rd worlders drilling in the gulf with far less concerns about saftey than we do.
To disguise and deceive the public into how much oil is being released into the Gulf. Out of sight, out of mind rationale. . . imho
Penguins?
What about the Polar Bears?
Oops!
LOL
Googling NALCO dispersants would probably carry you there. It even had research showing how toxic it is to ocean life. But hey--the big guys made money, which is ok if they are not doing it in a foul way. Here, they have helped kill jobs, living creatures, and ruined seafood, to say nothing of giving the EPA a reason to stop offshore drilling.--which drilling would be so much safer on the shelf about 30 miles closer to shore.
vaudine
Pelicans, okay have your fun at my expense.
I’m so sorry—for you to be so close to it, physically and emotionally, must be devastating.
Obama and anyone else responsible, for the spill or the slow cleanup, will pay, one way or another.
Thanks for that link.
Thanks, I look around.
