Muslims have been down in Southern Mexico recruiting for a long time too since 9-11 and handing out money left and right.
Perhaps because the Hispanic population keeps growing?
On top of that, AQ is probably sparing no effort to recruit US residents, especially those that are more likely to avoid profiling.
Maybe it is because they are making buddies crossing our US border together.
Stumbled onto an Aztlan site once and much of it was devoted to them showing "solidarity" with their "Palestinian brothers." They have a lot in common -- envy of prosperity/success, hatred for Americans/Jews, "stolen land" grievances, etc. Plus I suspect the Aztlaners and their ilk are awed by the Islamofascists' complete disregard for human life in pursuing their goals.
The same reason blacks do - jail. They generally come into contact with Islam in jail, where there is a lot of very aggressive “conversion” going on.
Non-Hispanic whites who get into it are usually the loser ¨seeker” type, like that kid who was writing threats from his mom´s basement. But I think you´ll find that a lot of the Hispanics first met Islam in jail - and remember, one of the big sources of money for Islamic terrorism is drug trafficking, so the criminal element moves in a common world.
Long a bastion of Catholicism, southern Mexico is quickly turning into a battleground for soul-savers. Islam, too, is gaining a foothold and the indigenous Mayans are converting by the hundreds. The Mexican government is worried about a culture clash in their own backyard....
