Its not about being gentlemanly anymore - the implications are too obvious. But it is. And it's precisely why the Republican senators are still acting like they are. They're convinced, STILL, that if they still play their part in the House of Lords called the Senate then the Dimwits will treat them right. Of course the Dimwits are playing hardball and far to few of the Republicans have realized that yet.

This conversation says a lot about the thinking of career politicians. The don't see themselves as public servants. They see themselves as an entitled "Noble Class" separate and above average citizens. These politicians view elections as an arcane relic of an outdated system, where they are forced to demean themselves by appealing to the common man once every few years.
Look at how they speak of American voters, as "They" and "They're after us." "They're coming for you." These senators view the voters as thieves, coming to steal something they own. Remember from the Brown election, he was stealing "Kennedy's Seat".

First we’re coming for the RINOS — Then we’re coming for the Socialists.

First I’m coming for the Socialist-Commies... and if I bag a couple of RINOS along the way, consider that a bonus!

Hey, Specter did something right!

Hatch in the past was a good stand up Republican, but the last 5 years, he has taken to voting with the Dems too much. Let's see how he votes on the Judge Nomination, if he supports that fat old Lesbo’ his days are numbered.

I don't want to hear another arrogant politician ever again cry about how much money the government is "losing" by failing to tax something to the max. There are too many sick puppies in office who truly view all private property as theirs even before they take it!
Politicians are so much more tolerable when they are afraid.

Specter to Hatch: So - you better watch out, Orrin, Toomey’s coming to get you next.
Hatch: What’s that?
I love hatch’s answer... huh? what? This doesnt apply to me...
To: Walkingfeather
But it does.
SALT LAKE CITY Roughly half of likely Utah voters surveyed in a poll say they would vote for someone other than U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch if he were up for re-election this year. The poll released Tuesday comes days after Utah's junior senator, Republican Bob Bennett, failed to make it onto next month's GOP primary ballot after 18 years in office. Commissioned by The Salt Lake Tribune, the poll found that 14 percent of likely voters are unsure whether they'd support Hatch, 35 percent inclined to vote for him and 51 percent inclined to vote for someone else. Um... I wasnt pointing out that Hatch is clueless about the train that will hit him. Both the Republicans and Democrats better be scared. There are no safe seats, just political meat hooks to hang the bodies on.....
To: Southnsoul
Sitting across from us - Sen. Arlen Specter, D-PA, who is in the political fight for his life back home with polls showing him down against his primary opponent, Rep. Joe Sestak. Arlen Specter is a rank opportunist who has hopefully run out of opportunites and will be retired by Pennsylvania voters in the upcoming primary. He gives backstabbers a bad name! He has long overstayed his welcome in Washington.

Sounds like Stockholm Syndrome.
To: Oldexpat
"he will pontificate and then vote to confirm this fat Lesbian commie to the court"You can rest assured that many Republicans will fold and vote to confirm. The usual suspects; plus a few others. The Court will become a joke like the rest of the Federal Governement.
We are truly screwed for years to come.

Hatch talks a good game, but I find it really hard to trust someone who was best friends with Edward Kennedy.
