Mayor Gulianai got the booby traps out of Times Square.

Parked trucks with expired meters are unusual?

I visited Manhattan two years ago (for the first time in almost 20 years) and I could not believe how different the Times Square area looked - it was actually clean and family-oriented. When I lived there during the Mayor Dinkins era (mid ‘80s), it was like a Sodom and Gomorrah theme park.

There are liberals who DESPISE that it is no longer sleazy.

Liberalism is a mental disorder.

No doubt. We’ll be PC until it kills us.

seriously. I remember returning from college one day and I had two duffelbags. While I was in Penn Station, I placed one down to buy a ticket on the LIRR and a homeless guy tried to steal it. It was on the ground beside my feet and i felt it move, looked back and there was a grubby guy trying to pull it away. I looked at him and spewed a few 4-lettered compliments his direction which drew the attention of the nearest cop that was watching TV in the restaurant nearby.

A cooler on the floor would have drawn the bums in like ants..

Isn’t it interesting how NYC increasingly becomes a perceived war zone, the closer it gets to the Columbia Trial and its appeal to thousands + of attendees?

Right!! Thieves have never been shy and bums have almost always acted bold. I don’t understand how unattended items are bypassed without somebody bothering to look inside or steal it.

Did it occur to anyone just to open the damn thing before calling police?

Too many Hollywood movies plague the American psyche.

It’s also sad that people are still leaving stuff like this around and causing havoc.

If we could get a CIC who is willing to start cracking some skulls, Patton-style, things could change. It would be psychological castration for the terrorists.

It wouldn’t take long to get things back to normal and our nation to be terror-free.

That’s for sure!!

And NYC could do with a Mayor Rudy. Bloomberg is a disgrace.

He's saving that up for the TEA Party.

Yeah, I guess it is.

I remember hearing the London became on of the dirtiest cities in the world when the IRA was running mad. All the rubbish bins had been removed.

Will Times Square become on of the cleanest since nothing can be left lying around.

NYC will look a lot more like a war zone when Iran nukes them.

A 70+ woman was seen walking away from the scene. She has been tagged as a potential suspect. Upchuck Shumer said she fits the profile to a tea!
